LEARNING OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this presentation participants will have a better understanding of,
and be able to apply in practice: (1) The principles underlying current healthy behavior change strategies (2) The
research data in which interventions aimed at lifestyle and other behavior change interventions have been
evaluated in rigorous clinical trials; (3) A range of practical steps which can be taken to adapt widely used
behavior change interventions to adapt them to the challenges and obstacles faced by people who live with
serious and persistent mental illness.
