Roy E. Jackson Memorial Adair Co. 4-H Award Description: This annual award was made possible by the family and friends of the late Mr. Roy E. Jackson, a past president of the Northeast Missouri Fair, a community leader, and a dedicated and enthusiastic person with high ideals for young people. Eligibility: Any bona fide 4-H member who has an exhibit in the Northeast Missouri Fair. Award: An annual plaque, donated by family and friends to be presented at the 4-H/FFA Livestock Sale. Score Card: Part I: A: Sportsmanship and courtesy during the Fair - 25 points. B: Friendliness, pleasant attitude during the Fair - 25 points. C: Enthusiasm of the Individual during the Fair - 25 points. Part II: The 4-H member who has done the best with what he/she had to work with. This could very likely include a white ribbon exhibit, but a blue ribbon boy or girl who displays qualities of the above in Part III: 25 points. Selection: Selection of award recipients to be made by a silent committee who will observe 4-H members throughout the Fair each year. The Myron Propst Memorial Commercial Award The Myron Propst Trophy will be awarded to the outstanding commercial display, either indoor or outdoor, on Friday evening in the commercial building. Myron Propst was a charter member of the Board, served as president and other capacities, mainly as Commercial Exhibit Superintendent. He was a farmer, businessman, and a dedicated individual to his family, Fair, and community. The judges will take note of the different displays throughout the week, noting: public appeal, presentation of the product, and individual salesmanship. Trophy Courtesy of Bill Baiotto, former Board Member & Officer. 58 Rodney Scott Memorial 4-H Award This annual award is made possible by the family of the late Rodney Scott. Rodney was a past member of the Novinger Town and Country 4-H Club, as well as a club leader and a member of the Northeast Missouri Fair Board. Rodney enjoyed working with the young and old at Fair time. AWARD: Annual plaque and bond donated by the family at the 4-H/FFA Livestock Sale. ELIGIBILITY: Any bona fide Adair County 4-H member who exhibits at the NEMO Fair. Recipients will be judged on: Showmanship: 25 points. Courtesy: willing to help others: 50 points. Enthusiasm: pleasant attitude: 25 points. Total: 100 points. Cliston Barker, Jr. FFA MEMORIAL AWARD The annual FFA Memorial Award in honor of Cliston Barker, Jr. will be presented during the 4-H FFA Sale at the NEMO Fair. This award will be presented to an FFA member who has met the proper guidelines. A plaque with the winners names will also be presented to the NEMO Fairboard and to Mr. Jason Dimmitt for the Vo-Tech School. Cliston, Jr. was the son of Cliston & Anita Barker of Kirksville and passed away June 29, 1992 with Diabetes. He was active in 4-H and FFA and was the FFA President for two years. He graduated from Kirksville Senior High in l989.
