NeighborWorks Lincoln is a community-based nonprofit whose mission is to keep Lincoln a safe
and prosperous community by revitalizing neighborhoods and promoting homeownership. We
work to accomplish our mission through an active partnership of resident leaders, private
businesses, and with the support of our community partners.
We are seeking an intern to assist in a neighborhood marketing initiative. The intern will assist
the Community Builders in collecting and documenting stories. This is a unique opportunity for
an individual to gain valuable field-experience in assisting a new project from the ground up.
Responsibilities: • Brainstorm and create interview questions and thought-provoking story
recommendations • Photograph, video and edit all necessary content • Obtain appropriate
releases • Create and maintain a database • Appropriate plan for storage and duplication •
Follow-up with appropriate questions, thank you cards and documentation • Aggregate and/or
create article and video content • Develop questionnaires and evaluations • Assist in
neighborhood engagement events • Utilize word-of-mouth and social media marketing
techniques to increase the “neighborhood brand” awareness • Provide support and ideas to
social media efforts • Perform other tasks as assigned
Required qualifications • Previous interview training • People skills and positive community
outreach skills • Familiar with all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) •
Exceptional organizational skills • Demonstrated ability to work with people from a variety of
socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds
Benefits: • This is a 3 month, unpaid internship with a $250/month stipend • Exposure to local,
regional and national issues • Hands-on skill development • Flexible and casual work
environment (5-10 hours/week) • Intern will receive a letter of reference, and formal evaluation
to help further their future career path, upon successful and positive completion of the internship
