POSITION SUMMARY:
Realityworks is seeking outstanding Engineering Interns to work in either mechanical, electrical, or software
engineering. Engineering Interns will work as part of a team, playing key roles in developing new company
products. These internships are ideal for individuals looking to experience a different challenge each day, see the
inner workings of a growing company, and embrace a higher level of responsibility and accountability. We are
looking for people who take pride in their work and have the energy and desire to make a significant impact in a
small, fast-growing company.
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP:
Students are strongly encouraged to apply for employment during the summer break and internships may
continue into the school year. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate class schedules. 40 hours per
week during the summer months is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific tasks may vary depending on the focus of the internship and may include the following:
• Develops mechanical prototypes of new product ideas using modeling techniques, rubber molds, CNC
machine, drills, saws, and other tools
• Analyzes, builds, configures, tests, and maintains systems and products
• Participates in product ideation through brainstorming sessions, review of concepts, and interaction with
cross-functional teams
• Creates sketches, 3D CAD models, and physical prototypes as needed to convey new ideas to others
• Creates written descriptions of new product ideas including how they look, work and are built
• Assists in specifying components and developing test procedures related to the mechanical design of
products
• Carries out test plans to ensure functionality of designs (hardware, software and electrical)
• Accurately documents test results and system configurations
• Assists in development of test plans to prove new products or improvements
• Maintains a logbook and tracks time on project tasks for entry into a tracking database
• Assesses present tools and development processes and proactively drives changes where improvements
can be made
• Ensures that drawings comply with company formatting standards
• Keeps management abreast of progress and pending problems
• Performs other additional duties as assigned or required

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written documents and reports
• Ability to effectively present information in written, verbal, and presentation form
• Ability to effectively analyze and resolve problems - assess a situation, gather data, analyze the data,
propose a solution
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a cross-functional team
• Demonstrated basic prototyping, problem solving, and engineering skills
• Good organizational, planning and follow-up skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Actively enrolled in a degree program focused on mechanical, electrical, or software engineering
• Must be familiar with the basic theories behind mechanical, electrical, or software engineering design
• Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of 3D CAD system
• Programming ability for test automation
• Familiarity with engineering tools and test equipment
• Hands-on experience repairing/maintaining/building mechanical systems
