Irrigation Days Kick Off!: 5:30 p.m. Burger & Hot Dog Feed, followed by free Concert
at 7:00 p.m. at the Dickey County Historical Park located on Oakes’s west side. Sponsored
by the Oakes Park Board and Oakes Ministerial.
Saturday, June 13th (Cont.)
Thomas Brothers Carnival: opening night—6:00 p.m.— 10:00 p.m.—behind the Travel
Inn off of Main Avenue.
“Funky Fun Junkfest”: 10 am—4 pm at Hockenberry Park. Food stands available at the
park as well. Vintage, repurposed and handcrafted goods. Free admission. Advanced free

Chili Cook-Off: 11:30 a.m.—2:00 p.m. at the Dickey County Historical Park on Oakes’s

Grand Parade: 6:00 p.m.—Staging 1 block south of Main on 3rd St.
Enter from South Nectarine beginning at 5 p.m. Pre-registration is NOT required. Prizes
awarded! Parade Route: Along Main Avenue going west from 3rd St. to 8th St.—N. on 8th
to Grape—E. on Grape to 10th—S. on 10th to Main—W. on Main to 9th—S. on 9th to Ivy—
W. on Ivy past Highway 1 through to staging area. No parking along parade route.
Sweets ‘N Stories: Following Parade, hosting “Splat the Cat”; bring camera for photos
Kids Pedal Tractor Pull: 11:00 a.m. on Main. Girls and Boys ages 4-10. No entry fee.
Registration starts at 10:30 a.m. Prizes—by Oakes Lions
Miller’s Fresh Food Cookout: 11:00 a.m.—1:00 p.m. Feast for $5 at Miller’s Parking Lot
