Gardner, A ssociate Pastor, PBUMC SUNDAY, JULY 5, 2015, 9:30 a.m. Perdido Bay United Methodist Church Call to Worship L: May Christ dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. P: May you have the power to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge. L: Now to the One who is able to accomplish far more than all we can ask or imagine, P: To God be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. L: Let us worship God! “I Am Free” Sacrament of Baptism Cooper & Cali Zorda Parents: Kristy & Nick Zorda Affirmation of Faith Prayer of Confession and Pardon O God, sustained by your mercy we make bold to confess our sin. We expel strangers and deny hospitality. We judge others all too freely. Our hasty words cause conflict and tension. We are disturbers of your peace. As you sent Christ to reconcile your people, forgive the failings of our unredeemed humanity and show us once again the image of your Son, who loved his enemies and taught us to do the same. “Now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace… and has broken down the dividing wall, that is, the hostility between us.” As we dwell in Christ, so let us also receive his forgiveness of our sins. Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought here out of many families and nationalities. Provide with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in your Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to your law, we may display your praise among the nations of the earth. In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, keep our trust in you from failing; all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord.
