Pomegranate Guild of Judaic Needlework Convention 2015 - “Desert Journeys” May 31 - June 2, 2015 Convention 2015 Keynote Speaker Professor Marcie Schoenberg Lee’s passion is teaching and learning from those in her university, adult education, and preschool classes, as well as her Jewish, Christian, Muslim and secular audiences around the United States and abroad. She teaches the Bible through art, ethics, human sexual behavior, Judaism, child development, the relationship of Hebrew and Christian Bibles, and effective parenting. Marcie trains religious school teachers, is a child development consultant, and conducts Sabbath services for AVIV of Arizona. Her lecture will center on the pomegranate’s pervasiveness in Judaism as we view images of this extraordinary fruit in Jewish art. Marcie will address the Convention following dinner on Sunday evening, May 31st. Marcie requested that we use the photo above. She wrote “I have no inherent objection to traditional head shots, but here is one other possibility -- this is me with my daughter, Nira Lois Lee, who just completed four years of service in the Israel Defense Forces as a Lone Soldier. The photo was taken in Israel at one of her officer promotion ceremonies.” Marcie continued, “You may use this photo as long as everyone knows that, alas, I didn’t sew any of that stuff on her uniform!! -- truth in advertising”.
