In Saskatchewan, a 14 year old pregnant teen can request and receive an abortion without parental consent. This unfortunate void in the law results in many teenagers making life-changing decisions on their own or after being coerced by a selfish boyfriend or abusive man. A parental consent for abortion law will protect the health and welfare of minors and recognize the rights of parents to raise their children and be involved in intimate and important health care decisions.
