CRITERIA FOR TEAMS IN NON-ASA LEAGUES FOR PARTICIPATION IN ASA
CHAMPIONSHIPS
1. Teams must be participating in an organized softball league(NSA, USSSA, Senior league, Town league,
Sunday morning league etc) and league must register with the ASA prior to June 1st.
2. League Roster signed by participating league official must be submitted with ASA Championship
Roster. Both rosters must be identical.
3. Players on League Roster and ASA Roster cannot appear on any other ASA Roster or be participating
on a team in any ASA Rostered league. If this occurs, the non-ASA team will be ineligible for ASA
Championship play (Championship play is defined as any tournament that leads to play outside of the
State which includes State Tournaments and Qualifiers) (NO EXCEPTIONS!!!) ASA Roster must
contain player’s name (typed or printed legibly), players address and signature. Roster must also be
completed and signed by team coach or manager. Once a team has participated in a Qualifying
tournament, the players on that Roster can only play on that team for Championship play. Players may
be added until July 10, provided they meet the aforementioned criteria and are approved by the ASA
State Commissioner.

Deadline for ASA Registration to be eligible for the State Tournament is play is June 1. Rosters and
Registration fee of $35.00(Bank check, money order, or company check….NO PERSONAL
CHECKS!) are due on or before those dates. Checks should be made payable to RIASA and sent to
2332 Post Rd, Warwick, RI 02886.
5. Once Rosters and Registration fees are received and verified by the ASA State Commissioner, a Rule
Book and State Tournament Entry Form will be sent to the team manager.
6. Teams should check the ASA Restricted Player list before declaring their classification to prevent a
team from being reclassified.
The State Commissioner reserves the right to reclassify a team.

Men’s Class E
Please note that a minimum of 4 teams is needed for a State Tournament to be run in any Classification
National Tournament Berths are also available for other Divisions and Classifications
