Franklin Saber Lacrosse Parent Meeting

Attendance: Susan Fernandes, Michele Lindsay, Paula Schwamb, Tammy Scholl, Kristin Riestra, Julie Ruetz,
Rochelle Teska, Doreen Lucht, Christine Wimmer
Chris Wimmer discussed budget updates. Went through all categories and the proposed costs and actual costs
for each so far.
Group discussion regarding banquets, gifts for coaches, managers, trainers etc.
Monies will be collected by a parent for each team to cover gifts for coaches. Susan will buy gift cards for the
managers and trainer gifts will be from both groups
Next year, Franklin Lacrosse Club and Franklin Saber Lacrosse will be two separate entities. They will be able to
be separate yet pull together fundraisers as a Franklin Lacrosse partnership. Being that lacrosse was new as a
high school sport, it was beneficial to be supported as one large group. The school sport has done well and can
now hold its own.
Mentioned a possibility of separating boys and girls entities, but will stay together for now.
Julie Ruetz discussed the Senior Scholarships. So far, she has only received one entry. No late entries will be
allowed. Due date was May 27, 2015.
Julie also discussed the boys banquet. She was hoping to have a video or slide show for the Seniors, however,
there is a time restraint. The boys teams are also lacking pictures of games. Chris Wimmer has been adding
some to a file. She will inquire with Jeff Baudry on the team pictures he has. Hope to get team pictures, action
pictures and Coach pictures with all the players.
Breakdown of happenings for the next season/year:
Susan would like to find someone who would like to function as the President. She will be willing to closely
mentor the new person in this important position.
Krisitn Riestra will continue to update information on the Weebly site. She will be updating for the boys
teams and Doreen with be take over updates for the girls teams.
We reviewed but still need to determine positions for next year: Discount Card Fundraiser, Coordinator of
Team Tournament meals, Concession Coordinator, Display Cases.
Fundraisers for next year. This season’s fundraisers were very profitable, approximately $1000. Will look for
other venues and other businesses to add to the coupon cards. Suggestions for other types of fundraisers such
as golf outings, parties, dances, beer tasting.
STRESS and ENCOURAGE more PARENT INVOLVEMENT.
Next Franklin Saber Lacrosse meeting will be in August. Details will be determined and announced closer to
this time.
