Job Description Job title: Reports to: Responsible for: Salary: Duration: Location: Project Manager (Safe & Secure) Senior Programme Manager Safe & Secure Support Workers & Project Development Worker £30,000 - £35,000 Six month fixed term post (with extension subject to funding) Based in Southwark (with frequent travel across London and subject to future change) Job Summary: Safe & Secure is a pan-London programme to provide young people with an exit route from the risk of gang related harm, managed by Safer London. Local authorities, housing associations, third sector providers and the Metropolitan Police Service work together to create safe options for relocation and specialist support workers offer high quality transformational support to address underlying risks and vulnerabilities. The objective is to keep the young person safe and to help them move away from gang involvement for good. As part of the Safe & Secure programme team within Safer London Foundation, you will proactively manage the operational co-ordination of the programme. You will develop and support relationships with partner agencies and third sector organisations across a number of London Boroughs ensuring effective case communication and management and ensuring outcomes are demonstrable. You will also work with the management team to develop new projects and activities and identify funding opportunities. Specific Duties: 1. Support the overall programme strategy, implementation plan and budgets in partnership with the Senior Programmes Manager, Safer London Foundation’s senior management team and the Safe & Secure Strategic Steering Group. 2. Support the ongoing rollout of the project to boroughs, and lead on maintaining ongoing operational relationships with existing local authority, housing association and other partners to ensure that the Safe & Secure referral process is clearly understood and the project model effectively implemented. 3. Work closely with partner agencies to ensure that all cases are effectively managed and all processes and procedures to manage Safe & Secure cases are transparent and effective. 4. Set up and be responsible for effectively managing systems, processes and procedures to manage and monitor the delivery of grants, contracts and projects with partner organisations to ensure outcomes, outputs and quality standards are met. 1 Job Description 5. Produce reports, information and data on the progress of the projects to enable timely and accurate reporting to a range of stakeholders including funders, Safer London’s SMT and the Trustees. 6. Conduct assessments of risk with particular reference to safe practice in your area of responsibility and in relation to working with young people affected by gang violence. 7. Provide effective line management and case supervision to multi-disciplinary delivery staff, ensuring good administration, recording, monitoring and evaluation of the project in accordance with the funder’s requirements and the policies and procedures of Safer London. 8. Develop and maintain effective relationships with public sector partners and funders, co-delivery partners and other agencies to support the delivery of the projects. 9. Undertake any other duties as required and commensurate with the level of this post. 10. Act in a manner that is in keeping with Safer London Foundation’s values. Safeguarding The postholder will be required to consent to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
