Circular Title: 2015 IRB PREMIERSHIP SERIES ROUND 3 – FINAL BULLETIN Document ID: 57.05.15 Department: Sport Audience: all Clubs, Branches, Team Managers, Officials and Administrators Summary: Final information for Round 3 of the 2015 Ocean Roar IRB Premiership Series at Noosa. th Date: 26 May 2015 th st Date: Saturday 30 May & Sunday 31 May 2015 Where: Noosa SLSC Distribution of Bulletin: It is most important that the information in this Bulletin is brought to the attention of all Carnival Officials, Water Safety Personnel, First Aid Personnel, Team Managers, Coaches and Competitors. Non receipt of this Bulletin will not be taken as an excuse if a Club, Team or Individual does not comply with the requirements outlined in this and other Bulletins and Circulars. ENTRIES Entries are now closed for the Round 3 of the Ocean Roar IRB Premiership Series, but please check the attached competitors listing to make sure your clubs entries are complete. th Clubs will have until midnight Wednesday 27 May 2015 to add any addition entries online which will incur a late entry fee. Under no circumstances will late or additional entries for individuals or teams be accepted for this carnival after this time. Please ensure that members entered as Handlers are not entered as competitors, handlers are those members that may assist during the carnival that are not actually competing. Any members entered as a Driver, Crew or Patient are able to assist as a handler without being entered as a handler. Team Changes If the competitors are already in the carnival then you can do a team change online until late entries close which will not incur a late entry fee. After this time please do team changes at admin before the carnival and with the marshal on the day. Entry Conditions: The conditions of entry to this event require all competitors to have met the entry requirements as detailed in the th Entries Bulletin – Circular 41.04.14 as well as the current edition of the Surf Sports Manual 35 Edition May 2015 (Section 3) and any subsequent Bulletins. NB: Clubs are reminded that the Taplin and Assembly Teams events are classified as Relays and as such do not form part of the minimum number of events (8) that a competitor can compete in. NB: All clubs please remember to submit your safety hazard training logs to SLSQ every month. If you do not submit your training logs you will not be allowed to compete. Interstate clubs wishing to compete in Queensland IRB Carnivals must comply with Queensland standards and provide their training logs to SLSQ the week prior to the competition or entries will not be permitted. NB: For this Round of the Ocean Roar Series the Rescue Tube event will be conducted over 10m as a trial, meaning that patients will be picked up at the normal patient pick up can for all other events and that there will only be 2 sets of Buoys in the water. The conduct of the event will remain the same it is just the swim has decreased in length. Team Changes: It is the Team Manager’s responsibility to ensure that changes to the Club’s competing teams have been registered with the Marshall and with admin, and also that all their competitors are entered into the carnival. Failure to do so will cause disqualification of their teams. Name checks will be carried out throughout the event. Scrutineering/Safety Checks: There will be random safety checks done throughout the event. Any in depth Scrutineering will be done at random throughout the day and any in discrepancy will be dealt with by the State Disciplinary Committee. A full IRB Scrutineering will be conducted at Round 4 of the Ocean Roar IRB Series at Mermaid Beach with further details to be provided. GENERAL INFO Dress of Officials: It is imperative that the appearance of competition officials for the IRB Series is of a high standard, therefore appointed officials are requested to give a high degree of attention to their dress, whites should be worn, Officials are not permitted to wear clothing conflicting with sponsors logos. Dress of Competitors: Drivers and Crew must wear competition caps for all events for these championships. “Peeked” caps may be worn but only under the club competition cap. Drivers, Crew and Patients must wear Lifejackets during all events as per SLSA Bulletin 12/14-15 as well as per the updated Surf Sport Manual Section 3 covering the Lifesaving events of which IRB’s are included. Patients under SLSA Bulletin 5/12-13 as well as the updated Sport Manual are required to wear an approved helmet for all events (other than the Rescue Tube Race). Drivers will be supplied with a lane coloured vest/device to assist with judging. As this carnival will promote Surf Life Saving Queensland’s image to the general public it is of the utmost importance that the standard of dress for both officials and competitors is maintained at the highest possible level. Carnival Location / Trailer Storage The event will be conducted adjacent to the Noosa SLSC with clubs able to use the car park directly next to the club to drop off trailers and gear to get taken onto the beach. All trailers will then be relocated to the trailer parking area in the Noosa Woods area (as per attached map). Clubs are able to leave the trailers and IRB’s overnight with security being provided in the storage area of which clubs can access this area via the Noosa River mouth in relation to taking boats off the beach at the end of the day. Cancellation Policy: The following Cancellation Fee & Refund Policy will be adhered to: • If a carnival is cancelled, with no postponement before the first event is conducted, 75% of all entry fees will be refunded to all Clubs (25% retained for administration costs). • If a carnival is cancelled, after the first event is conducted, no refund will be given. • If a carnival is postponed and re-scheduled to another date, a 75% refund will be issued to competing Clubs that cannot compete at the re-scheduled event. Protests: All protests shall be lodged with the appropriate carnival official in accordance with the procedures set down in the current edition SLSA Surf Sports Manual and shall identify the specific sections/clauses in the 34th Edition Surf Sports Manual upon which the protest is based. Special “Protest Forms” will be readily available from the Competitor Liaison Officer (Dark Green Bibs). A fee of $110.00 per appeal will be charged to lodge an appeal with the Appeals Committee. This fee is only accepted as CASH. Should the appeal be successful, the fee will be refunded. Results: Will be placed on the Surf Life Saving Queensland website no later than 48hours after the completion of the event.
