About Susan
Our villages need better bus
services to enable people to
access towns and jobs.
I have lived in Kirton with my husband for 37 years and I ran a
small upholstery business and taught upholstery for 23 years.
We have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. I was on the Parish
Council for 30 years before becoming a District Councillor 4
years ago.
I am passionate about our villages and communities. I
patronise all our village pubs and attend most of our village
churches as my husband is the local Reader.
I helped to start our Community Lunch Club 10 years ago and
started our Kirton Tea Shop 5 years ago shortly after we lost
our local shop. This attracts all ages from 1 to 90.
I supported several village groups with
funding from my Community Enabling
Budget in this case the local drama group.
I was part of a team which put together the Deben Estuary
Plan to protect our beautiful tranquil estuary for all to enjoy.
In my spare time, which seems to get less, I enjoy walking,
swimming, playing tennis and canoeing.
I will serve the village communities to the very best of my
ability.
I detest litter and work with
officers to get fly tipping cleared
away quickly.
I enjoy serving our communities
