I’m really enjoying my first year here at St. Albert the Great! Getting to know all the great students and families has been a real positive experience. This past week, the St. Albert Nutrition Services hosted a nutrition fair for all the students. I participated in the fair by displaying how much sugar is in popular drinks and getting kids to “RETHINK YOUR DRINK”. Ask your children what they learned about regular soda, sports drinks and chocolate milk! Hopefully you will have noticed they are drinking a lot more water!!! Just a few reminders from the clinic….We are still in “flu season”. If your child has a fever or is throwing up, they are to be free of these symptoms for 24 hours before they can return to school. This should be determined without the use of fever-reducing medications such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Eating a healthy balanced diet which includes plenty of fruits and vegetables, drinking plenty of water and getting a good night of sleep is a recipe for a student ready to learn!
