Founded in 1975, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund empowers Latino families with the knowledge and
resources to successfully complete a higher education, while providing scholarships and support services
to as many exceptional Hispanic American students as possible. HSF strives to make college education

advance that goal – each individual, over a lifetime, in every way he/she can. HSF seeks to give its
Scholars all the tools they need to do well in their course work, graduate, enter a profession, excel, help

million in scholarships and provides a range of ancillary programs for students, HSF Scholars, Alumni,

Responsibilities
The Programs Coordinator helps to prepare for, promote and execute various student and parent
engagement initiatives on behalf of HSF. The primary programs include College 101, College Camp,
Youth Leadership Institute, and the National Leadership Conference. This individual reports to the Sr.
Outreach Programs Manager, but also helps support community engagement initiatives that originate
across HSF’s regions. Specifically,
1. Responsible for identifying and following up with regional contacts for HSF outreach initiatives
2. Maintain a database of district superintendents, school board members, community partners, and all
other relevant personnel within targeted outreach regions
3. Support promotional and collaborative messaging for College 101, College Camp, Youth Leadership
Institute, and all other HSF community engagement initiatives, as needed
4. Serve as a session facilitator and deliver program content at outreach events, if needed
5. Maintain data and conduct research, as needed
6. Support on-site logistics for HSF outreach events in various cities, as needed
7. Perform other tasks, as needed
Qualifications







Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and passion for interacting with student and parents, liasing with
community organizations, and executing community outreach initiatives
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Experience building a local network and skilled at developing personal connections
Computer skills required (software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat)
Excellent organization skills, research oriented, and independently motivated

Written and oral proficiency in Spanish language preferred
Must be task-oriented and self-starter
Must be able to work and adapt in a fast-paced, professional working environment.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team
Strong ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and work assignments, with grace under
pressure
Ability to interact with variety of audiences, from college students to senior professionals
Willingness to travel up to 20% and work some evenings and weekends, when necessary
