The Support Centre provides education to pupils who are at risk of or have been permanently
excluded from mainstream school, or who have SEND. Working in a busy office area the
successful candidate will be expected to work with minimal supervision providing administrative
support to a team of teaching and teaching support staff.
An ability to work as part of a team is essential, as are excellent communication, interpersonal, and
organisational skills, a sound knowledge of IT, ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload,
and a good understanding of confidentiality.
The post holder will be communicating directly with pupils, parents and other agencies, and should
be able to exercise and promote customer care and adopt a flexible approach to the work
undertaken.
Duties include reception, recording pupil attendance and exclusions on MIS system, processing
orders and invoices, petty cash and assisting with the submission of statutory returns.

We are seeking to recruit an HCPC registered experienced Social Worker to join the Adult Care
Social Work Team based in Derbyshire County Councils Contact Centre.
This is a challenging fast paced position, in a busy team. A key element of the role is responding
positively wherever possible to enquiries at the first point of contact from members of the public
and multi-agency professionals such as Health, Police, Fire and Housing. We work proactively with
colleagues from our brokerage team, and the voluntary sector.
Our aim is to support as many people as possible to achieve their desired outcomes through
advice, information, joint working with Health colleagues and the provision of equipment. The team
ensure that the quality of the information gathered to inform professional decision making is robust
and proportionate to need, only if a face to face assessment is required, will referrals be passed on
to fieldwork colleagues.
We currently work with County wide Health SPA'S to provide a crisis intervention service to avoid
Acute Hospital Admissions, and are involved with supporting the ""Virtual Ward"" concept, with
Direct Care colleagues, Community Therapy Services, and the Royal Derby Hospital.
The team are actively involved with the training and support of Customer Care Assistants in the
contact centre through the production of Call Guides and training sessions to equip them with the
necessary skills and knowledge to effectively respond to enquiries and referrals. The Care Act will
promote peoples independence, wellbeing, choice and control over their lives, and this will be
evidenced in our day to day work.
A demonstrable working knowledge of face to face social work assessments; and evidence of
complex case working including safeguarding vulnerable adults and continuing health care is
essential to this role as is experience in multi-agency working to achieve positive outcomes for
clients through the use of not only statutory services where applicable, but the use of established
local community services to promote clients wellbeing in their own homes.

Grounds Maintenance Operative

We are looking to appoint two full time Grounds Maintenance Operative/Drivers to maintain the
high standard of the important front-line Grounds Maintenance Services based at the Council’s
Depot at Darklands Road, Swadlincote.
The job involves working within the Grounds Maintenance Teams undertaking a range of
horticultural and arboricultural tasks within the district of South Derbyshire. The successful
applicant will need to be able to start work early in the mornings, be able to work outside in all
weather conditions and to be able to cope with the physical demands of the job. The job requires
good communication skills and teamwork.

Team Assistant – Environmental Education Project

An organised and efficient administrator with MS Office experience/ qualifications is required to
support the teaching and events team by organising bookings, staff rotas, service monitoring and
handling payments.
The ability to multi task and stay focussed in a very small and busy office is essential. Excellent
communication skills, a calm professional cheerful manner and a genuine interest in and respect
for environmental issues are important attributes. Project management experience would be an
advantage.
This is an opportunity to join South Derbyshire’s award winning ‘Environmental Education Project’
team which is based at Rosliston Forestry Centre and provides activities across the District and
The National Forest. Access to a car is essential.
Appointment to the post will be dependent on a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Criminal
Records Bureau.
