DISTRICT ATTORNEY
EASTERN J UDICIAL CIRCUIT OF GEORGIA
MEG HEAP
First Member of Ghost Face Gangsters Sentenced
SAVANNAH, Ga. – April 27, 2015 – In the culmination of a four month investigation, the first associate
member of the Ghost Face Gangsters pled guilty in Chatham County Superior Court last week on charges
associated with a January 28 indictment.
Zachery Conson Hughes pled guilty to eight counts including Conspiracy to Violate the Georgia Controlled
Substances, two counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Sale of Methamphetamine, Illegal use of
Communication Facility, Violation of Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, Possession of Firearm During
the Commission of a Felony and Conspiracy to Smuggle Methamphetamine in a Georgia State Correctional
Facility.
After Chief Superior Court Judge Michael Karpf took the Opened-Ended Plea, he sentenced Hughes to 25 years
with ten to serve.
The charges stem from Hughes’ participation in a drug trafficking ring that included Ghost Face Gangster
senior member Christopher Henry, who ran the operation from Wilcox State Prison. Henry smuggled phones
into prison so that he could communicate with his wife, Regina Henry. Regina Henry, who spoke with
Christopher Henry multiple times a day, distributed large amounts of crystal methamphetamine from Henry
and Clayton Counties using Christopher Henry’s drug connections.
Through the diligent work of Chatham Savannah Counter Narcotics Team, Chatham County Assistant District
Attorney Noah Abrams obtained indictments against ten members of the drug ring. Of those named in the
indictment, four were from the Savannah area. Nearly a pound of crystal methamphetamine was taken off the
streets as a result of this investigation.
