Content Strategist, ATL
Position Description CONTENT STRATEGIST Second Story is a network of design studios that focuses on responsive environments, story-‐ driven experiences, experimentation, and innovation. For more than 20 years, we have conceptualized, designed, and developed projects that educate, immerse, and activate across the cultural and brand space. Our studio is interdisciplinary and intensely collaborative, founded on the desire to make great work through collective authorship. We are seeking an experienced Content Strategist (CS) for our Atlanta Studio. The CS is first and foremost a passionate storyteller—s/he understands how to craft narratives that captivate an audience. A deft communicator with a range of language skills, the CS’s words leap off the page to bring abstract concepts to vivid life and make complex ideas easy to understand. The CS is an imaginative conceptual thinker whose left-brain functions just as well as the right; s/he can analyze and organize content into logical structures and develop strategies to apply it. Working closely with both clients and the team, the CS crafts the message, shapes the narrative, and owns the story, creating experiences that entertain, educate, and inspire audiences through innovative interactive media. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: • Research, organize, and prioritize content to build a project’s story. • Collaborate with the Experience Design team to categorize information into meaningful structures (assist with crafting both the content strategy and the content matrix). • Bring content to life through compelling text narratives. • Contribute concepts during ideation sessions. • Create concept write-ups that clearly and passionately communicate ideas. • Write in multiple formats, styles, and voices. • Create scripts and assist in project video shoots. • Create onscreen user interface text. Second Story / Part of SapientNitro / ©2015 Sapient Corporation, Confidential 1 • Proof and edit text components to ensure consistency in tone, style, and grammar. • Ensure the story remains clear and compelling throughout the project execution. • Write copy for new business responses. • Document our work, including written project overviews and scripts for case study films. THE CANDIDATE MUST: • Be intrinsically motivated by the adventure of breaking boundaries to create something new and different. • Be a true collaborator with a positive disposition, a solution-based attitude, and the ability to work with people with diverse skills, backgrounds, and beliefs. • Stay informed about cultural trends but push past them in a thoughtful and original way. • Exhibit true craftsmanship, understanding the gap between good and great work and consistently working to cross it. • Be adept at ideation and building on the ideas of others, valuing the evolution of concepts generated by an interdisciplinary team. • Be authentic and honest with a unique worldview. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: • A masterful command of the written word and an understanding of how to craft stories that captivate and inspire an audience • An authentic, versatile voice • The ability to think conceptually, generating and refining ideas into thoughtful, provocative concepts • The ability to clearly communicate ideas to both the team and the client • A command of content, information, and presentation that brings clarity to complexity and establishes the emotional tenor of a project • At least 2 years professional experience • An outstanding portfolio of work • Experience with both editorial and narrative styles of writing (short- and long-form) This is an exceptional opportunity for a meaningful career in an environment where collaboration is paramount, but individual efforts shine. This position is located in Atlanta with a competitive, comprehensive salary and a benefits package that includes medical, dental, disability, employer-contributed 401(k), and professional development funds.
