MAY 2015 – EVENING Peer Support Groups
Bipolar Disorder Support Group: Weekly. Individuals who experience bipolar disorder are invited to participate in this group. Mood swings within bipolar can be mild, moderate, or severe and can be accompanied by changes in thinking and behaviour. This group provides a safe and
comfortable environment where the above can be discussed and explored. This group is held in Room B103 on the basement level.
Cocaine Anonymous: Weekly including Statutory Holidays . This group provides community access to peers who would like to recover from
addictions. It offers a message of hope for a much better quality life without use of cocaine or any other mind altering substance. This group is held
in the large Boardroom on the basement level.
Depression & Anxiety Support Group: (see Daytime Peer Support Groups calendar also) Participants who engage in the group are currently or have
at some point in their life experienced depression and/or anxiety. The goal of this peer-led group is to talk and share experiences in an effort to
provide support and useful information that promotes and maintains optimal health. This group is held in Room B103 on the basement level.
Peers for Safer Living is now offered once a month every third Wednesday: This is a closed group and is intended for individuals who have already
completed the 20-week Skills for Safer Living intervention group. If you are interested in learning more about the 20 week intervention group, please
call (519) 570-4595 x 4063 to speak with a Coordinator.
Rainbow Connections: 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. Waterloo Region’s first Inclusive LGBTQ & Mental Health Group! People of all genders
and sexual orientations are welcome. This group is held in the Large Board Room on the basement level.
Spark of Brilliance Committee: Monthly. Sharing ideas and opportunities for Spark of Brilliance programming. For information: info@sparkofbrilliance.org
Supporting the Supporter: 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. This group provides support for family members and friends of individuals with mental
health challenges. The group is facilitated by a family member who provides a safe and comfortable environment for participants to share and
support each other. This group is held in the smaller boardroom on the basement level.
Next Step Group: Weekly. This is a closed group and is intended for individuals who have already completed the First Step program.

All evening groups will begin at 7:00 pm. The doors will only be
monitored until 7:15 pm. If you are late you may not be able to
access the building. Please be mindful of these times as it is
interruptive to the facilitators and the individuals attending groups.
