Xplova E5 Cycling Computer Guide Classroom Lesson II Sensor-pairing In lesson I, you can learn the E5 basic settings. This one will be introduced how to pair with combo sensor , heart rate monitor, power meter and calibrating the power meter. You can also download the English user manual from following webpage, http://download.xplova.com/E5/E5UM/Xplova_E5_UM_EN.pdf If you just want to manually set up E5 cycling computer, you can refer to the English user manual from page 30 to page 35 HRM ( heart rate monitor) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The HRM menu allows you to monitor your exercise and body condition. The Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) is attached to an elastic band worn around the chest. This section describes how to pair and wear the heart rate monitor . How to wear and pairing the Heart Rate Monitor? Pairing connects the Heart Rate Monitor to your Xplova E5, allowing heart rate to be recorded and displayed on screen Press long = Press the button for 2 seconds and then release the button A popup on the Xplova E5 indicates when the HRM is paired. While E5 successfully paired successfully with a heart rate monitor (HRM), below the HRM SCAN successful will display numeric on Lower Screen of E5 The significance of the numeric is the ID of HRM. (Note: all HRM ID are different) After HRM complete to pair with E5, you have to short press the button “LAP/RESET” twice. Confirm to save the pairing information and return to the previous screen. Combo Cadence Sensor --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The combo cadence (includes the cadence sensor and a speed sensor) attaches to the chain stay of your bike to help you track your speed and cadence accurately Pairing the Combo Cadence Sensor While E5 successfully paired successfully with a Combo Cadence Sensor, below the CMB SCAN successful will display numeric on Lower Screen of E5. The significance of the numeric is the ID of CMB. (Note: all CMB ID are different) After Combo Cadence sensor complete to pair with E5, you have to short press the button “LAP/RESET” twice. Confirm to save the pairing information and return to the previous screen. If you want to know more clearly, you can refer to the following pairing videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW How to install combo cadence sensor? you can refer to the following image. Or Follow the demonstration, After pairing the combo cadence sensor, install the sensor on your bike. 1) Position the sensor on the chain stay of your bike 2) Use the supplied cable ties to hold the sensor in place. Do not fully tighten. 3) Attach the magnet to a spoke. Do not fully tighten 4) Attach the magnet to the left crank. Do not fully tighten 5) Adjust the magnets and the sensors, making sure the air gap between sensor markings and magnets is less than 5 mm 6) When setup is complete, tighten the cable ties Every bicycle frame size is not the same. When you want to assemble combo sensor to the frame, you abide by assembling principle (Assembly principle is the same). Therefore, some users speed sensor assembly will skew, or cadence sensor assembly will skew. As long as it can be pairing, the skew assembled position is also possible. Please refer to the actual most suitable for you assemble pictures. speed sensor assembly will skew Or go to visit http://blog.udn.com/serafinamor/6788764 Power Meter ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The following power meter devices are compatible to your Xplova E5: SRM, Quarq, Power2Max and Power Tap.
