R O C K A R T L O V E Cesar Galindo, a self-taught designer and the youngest of eleven children, began his career in fashion designing corsets and period costumes for The Miami City Ballet, and then for The Houston Grand Opera in his hometown. He moved to New York in the mid 1980’s to continue his work as a designer and started in the fashion industry at TSE Cashmere as a show room manager. After a year, he went on to design for Carmelo Pomodoro, a then rising international sportswear designer. During this time, Cesar began developing his own line, a signature collection specializing in dresses for social and evening events. Cesar achieved notoriety when his washed silk kimono dress made the cover of Elle magazine, July 1993, on supermodel Karen Mulder. Once America and the rest of the world caught a glimpse of his designs, they wanted more. Galindo’s first trunk show was at the renowned Martha’s International on Park Avenue and was followed at New York City retail institution, Henri Bendel. Over the next decade, the brand CESAR GALINDO developed in distribution domestically and internationally at select retailers. For the last twenty-two years, Cesar has balanced his time designing his own collection as well as working as a contract designer for private clients and for established labels including Dolce & Gabbana where he designed predominately for celebrities for nine years followed by seven seasons for Calvin Klein Collection under the design direction of Francisco Costa. His most recent assignment was at L.A.M.B., a contemporary women’s collection launched by Gwen Stefani. In October 2011, Galindo launched CZAR by Cesar Galindo, his secondary women’s collection . Rich Stromback R I C H S T R O M B A C K , F O U N D E R . R O C K A R T L O V E F O U N D AT I O N . Richard Stromback is a former professional hockey player (OHL, ECHL), Venture Capitalist, Entrepreneur and until now, an often anonymous donor and fundraiser for philanthropic and humanitarian causes. Stromback's repeated successes have been acknowledged by the media and global business community. The New Yorker’s Nick Paumgarten featured Stromback in his 2012 story on the World Economic Forum: “THE WORLD OF POWER: Magic Mountain What happens at Davos?” The New York Times Andrew Ross Sorkin captured Stromback’s Ecology Summit on Necker Island with his story “At island retreat, Branson and friends seek to save a world 'on fire'.” In 1997 he founded Web Group, a technology staffing and search firm and served as its CEO and president until 2003. As founder and chief executive officer of Web Group he pioneered the staffing and search industry through his innovative sales management techniques. Stromback conceptualized and instituted information and sales systems to electronically track performance and provide incentives for sales personnel to achieve award-winning growth. Under his leadership, the company grew from a sole employee to over ninety employees with $10 million in annual sales – a compounded growth of over 1,400% for four years while completely self-funded. Stromback's accomplishments were recognized by Inc. Magazine, which named Web Group the 189th fastest growing private company in the United States for the year 2002. In 2003, he shifted his investment focus to clean technology, acquiring the research firm, Ecology Coatings. An early entrant to the clean tech market, Stromback purchased Ecology - at that time a fifteen year old R&D concern, in 2003. Within nine months of acquisition, Stromback took Ecology from the lab and into production. He moved quickly to secure Ecology's proprietary technology by directing the filing of ten patents and focusing his efforts on the commercialization of the underlying technology. Stromback negotiated strategic relationships to license Ecology's technology across a wide swath of markets, (eliminated space and changed of to a) including the automotive, electronics and medical device markets. This included deals with DuPont, Guidant and Red Spot. Stromback is a regular attendee of the World Economic Forum and was given the 2006 Technology Pioneer Award by the organization for his efforts with Ecology Coatings. In 2007 Stromback was named a Young Global Leader and in 2008 Crain’s Business listed him as one of the top 40 leaders under 40 years of age. Stromback holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Brandon University, in Brandon, Manitoba. Prior to earning his degree, he played professional hockey for a number of years in the Ontario Hockey League and the East Coast Hockey League. Richard Branson. Rich Stromback. Necker Island.
