Mary’s Momentous Messages
I have some exiting news for you, Really this is a Big Deal for Dakota
Country Dance Club.
On Sunday Sept 21st at 2:00PM at the American Legion in Sioux Falls,
SD, DCDC will be presented with an award of honor for 30 years of
continuous support for Country music and dance.
DCDC will be inducted into the Legions of Country Music “Hall of
Fame”. Once inducted we will showcase our dance skills with 30
minutes of partner and line dancing. With such a prestigious award
we need all of you to join us for this DCDC history making event.
What's more, your cover charge to the induction ceremony is already
paid for. Sign in at the door as a member and receive free entry. Come
out to dance or come support the dancers. You don’t want to miss
this event! See page 5 for more information.

“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are
certain to miss the future.” John F. Kennedy
If we don’t keep changing our club will die. In order to keep a
growing membership the board needs to ensure club members
receive more than their moneys worth from their membership
dues.
We have made some changes.

We will add extra dances to our calendar. Our goal is a dance every
other month with no cover charge.

We will incorporate road trips to dance club events outside of our
area, starting with a few designated drivers, but once enough participants are interested we could rent a van or bus. Watch Dakota
Country Happenings/DCDC website/Newsletter for further details.


Fall Fest has changed. It is now Harvest Fest.
Harvest Fest will be held at the Hartford American Legion on Saturday November 15th. We will have Line dance and Partner dance lessons from
1:00PM - 6:00PM. A potluck dinner will be served from 6:00-8:00PM.
A Night Club Two Dance Competition will be held at 6:30PM judged by our
Harvest Fest Dance Instructors. (You can enter also, just email us).
Jam’in Jay 8:00PM-Midnight. Best Country DJ in South Dakota.

The events committee will provide an entire years worth of events for potential/renewing members prior to our membership drive to help show all
the great benefits of membership.

There will be a suggestion/comment box at all DCDC sponsored events so
we can adjust to our members needs.
One other note, we have an amazing weekly resource for our members. It is
called Dakota Country Happenings. Deb Creegan does an awesome job of
gathering information about dances/workshops/events and even concerts
that are coming up or current that week. I heard a member say that Dakota
Country Happenings was well worth the membership fee alone, and I agree!
Let me show you how great it is, below is a last weeks email. Remember
members only receive this email weekly. I did change the fonts and spacing to
be sure it fit on the following two pages. (this will not be posted in the newsletter monthly, email only). If you have changed your email address be sure to
update it so you don’t miss out.
I cant thank you enough Deb Creegan, you do a great job giving us all this information in one email. I think you have the most comprehensive listing in all
of South Dakota.
Without change, something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens.
The sleeper must awaken.
