July / August 2016 NEWS FLASH JFC HQ Brunssum, Building H-106, Extension Project PROGRESS With this sixth newsletter we would like to inform you on building progress. Working closely together with the JFCBS Base Support Group (BSG) we aim to keep you apprised of developments. building process whereby some parts are already integrated in the concrete floors, and cable trays are installed to the ground floor ceiling. See picture below for the mounted cable trays. In the stairwells, we installed prefabricated concrete stairs and platforms. This allows us to reach the Current Situation ‘Extend H-106’ Construction work is progressing in accordance with the schedule. Over recent weeks we have mounted the prefabricated concrete walls and columns for the middle and top floors, placed the hollow core slabs and poured a concrete layer on both floors. All of this has been achieved using a 50 ton crane, a 70 ton crane, a 42 meter mobile tower crane, and a 400 ton crane for assembly works. • Now, shortly before our summer holiday, a part of the roof deck will be applied. After our summer break, the rest of the steel structure and roof deck will be installed. This means that on September 9th, the rough structure will be completed. Number of freights: In addition, we have already welcomed many trucks, for example: • 24 loads of hollow core slabs; • 16 loads of prefab deliveries; • 32 concrete mixers (truck = 8 m³ concrete). From August 30th we start to build up the scaffolding around the building and on September 12th we start with the closing of the facades. Project facts middle & top floors The following statistics are associated with the project: Current Situation ‘H-106 A’ In building section A, the new masonry walls are close to completion. In the former entrance area, temporary arrangements (in order to protect against weather influences) have been applied. 2 Last but not least From Tue 30th Aug, the ring road next to the building site (Limburgstraat) will be rearranged. There will be a temporary road bypass indicated by signs. Also, the sewer system will be inserted and connected in this period. This is executed because the existing steel structure and the roof, including roofing, will be demolished. See the picture below for these temporary arrangements in the former entrance area. After the holidays, a new steel structure will be installed to connect the existing building with the new walkways to the new Wing – Wing J. Also after the holidays we will start with the preparations for the walkways and the construction works for the new guard post (Post 18) in the inner patio of H106 I. Holiday closure “bouwvak” Due to the annual construction-industry holiday, our company is closed from Friday, August 5th to Monday the 29th of August. In this period no construction work will take place. In case of possible calamities, the staff from “LAUDY Bouwservice” department is ready to assist you.
