Cardiac Rehabilitation is associated with a 20-30% reduction in all-cause mortality rates. In addition to individualized exercise programs, risk reduction education is provided in both group and individualized settings. You will be closely monitored during the program by an RN/Exercise Specialist who is not only experienced in Cardiac Rehab but also in Basic Life Support & Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Features ♦ Brand new exercise equipment including treadmills, recumbent bike, elliptical, airdynes bikes, Nustep cross trainer, arm ergometer, and free weights. ♦ Convenient class times beginning as early as 7:15am and ending at 4:30pm. Classes meet 3 times per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. ♦ Cardiac rehabilitation is covered by Medicare and most health insurance plans ♦ Conveniently located on the ground level of the Doctor’s Medical Building, on the Lawrence General campus. ♦ The program complies with the American Association of Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Joint Commission, and the American College of Sports Medicine. Delivery System Transformation Funding Governor Deval Patrick recently announced that the Obama Administration has approved $628 million to support the Patrick-Murray Administration’s initiative for integrated care and alternative payment models at Massachusetts safety net hospitals. The renewal of the Commonwealth’s Medicaid waiver sets the stage for a new round of innovations that build on the success of health care reform in Massachusetts – and Lawrence General Hospital is proud to be a part of this initiative.The Hospital is eligible for up to $14.4M in funding for up to three years. Our exciting initiatives will focus on: [1] Further development of an integrated delivery system that encompasses the concepts of the patient centered medical home; [2] Improved health outcomes and quality; [3] Ability to respond to statewide transformation to “value based purchasing” and to accept alternatives to fee for service payments; [4] Reporting on population focused improvements. Lawrence General’s site was selected for the Best Web Site Redesign Award under $100,000 for a number of new features: improved, simple navigation for users, a free online health library, key information available in English and Spanish, live ER Wait Times fed directly and securely from patient bed boards, a physician finder feature, links to social media and clinical affiliates, and more. The growth in user traffic throughout the site, and the retention/bounce rate for the web site were also factors in the award selection. Page views for the new site have topped 450,000 since going live in June of 2011. Electronic Direct Deposit for LGH Employees Direct deposit stubs are available for viewing electronically via a secure online website, ADP’s “iPay,” at https://ipay.adp.com. All employees who receive direct deposit will be required to register online for this service. Your direct deposit vouchers will always be available for viewing at 7am every Friday. A designated computer with printer for viewing and printing direct deposit vouchers is available on the cafeteria floor, Russell Basement, at the end of hall near Environmental Services. The ADP website will allow you to print and/or save your pay stubs to your computer as a PDF and you can download a free ADP App on your iPhone. Employee Flu Vaccines The Massachusetts Department of Public Health established an overall goal for acute care hospital employee vaccination rates for the 2011-2012 influenza season. Statewide, the MDPH expected that a 90% influenza vaccination rate will be reached. We’re proud to announce that Lawrence General Hospital achieved the third best ranking, 99%, for compliance in the state!
