Benefits of SWAS
In power plants, high-pressure boilers and steam turbines are under constant attack from erosive and corrosive element
such as Silica, Sodium, Dissolved Oxygen, Calcium, Chloride and Phosphates. Without accurate measurement and
monitoring, the plant may suffer heavy mechanical damage that may be caused due to imbalance of turbines, reduced
efficiency, deposition on turbine blades, corrosion of steam pipe work and so on.
In any power plant using steam, there are a lot of hidden culprits that slowly eat into boiler tubes, super-heaters or more
importantly the turbines. These are impurities associated with various parameters such as dissolved oxygen, silica,
phosphate, sodium, chlorides and many others. These impurities ultimately result in corrosion and deposition which can
finally lead to turbine failures / boiler shutdowns or in extreme cases, permanent damage to the equipment. The cost of
unplanned shutdown can be very high. In fact, more than 50% of the unplanned shutdowns are due to inadequate analysis
and control of impurities and the corrosion or deposition resulting from it.
In addition, we have developed iSWAS to remotely monitor health of our SWAS and setting up a bird eye view of water

condenser can contaminate pure condensate, making it

Need for CEMs
Combustion of coal produces carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that cause climatic warming. It is the source of
sulphur oxides and nitrogen oxides, which are harmful to human health and are largely responsible for acid rain. Also, a
lesser-known fact is that emissions from coal combustion do contain naturally occurring radioactive materials like uranium
and thorium. Currently,78% electricity comes from fossil fuels, mostly coal. Besides being a finite resource, burning coal for
electricity generation is harmful to the environment. In a power boiler, coal with the help of oxygen (i.e. air) is burnt for
heating water to generate steam. To ensure proper utilisation of coal i.e. to produce maximum heat, plants need to control
the air-to-fuel ratio, in the combustion process.

We have a server in place at Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi in India and at different state level Pollution Control Boards
(PCB's) in India. Our data systems are transmitting live data of our gas and liquid analysers to these servers for over 2 years now. Online
Sox, Nox and PM are the mandatory parameters required by PCB from the Power Industry in India.

It is observed that a power plant can achieve its maximum performance or power generation if rotating equipment right
from Coal Crushers, ID / FD / PA Fans, CT Fan, CEP, BFPs and most critical rotating machines work trouble free. The heart of a
