Welcome to Saint Gall Catholic Community
Bienvenidos a la Iglesia de San Gall
Saint Gall Parish is a sacramental
community of faith, guided by the
Holy Spirit and centered in the
celebration of the Eucharist. We
share the mission of the Catholic
Church to make known the presence
of God’s saving love as revealed to us
by Jesus Christ. We are dedicated to
praise and worship God, to foster
spiritual growth and conversion, to
nurture our community, and to reach
out to all people in their spiritual and
temporal needs.

THE ATTITUDE OF CHRIST JESUS
LA ACTITUD DE CRISTO JESÚS
The Lenten cycle brings us to this “mixed” Sunday of
palm branches and painful suffering. Our liturgy opens by
recalling Jesus’ triumphant entry along the main road into
Jerusalem, then moves quickly to the back streets of
betrayal and humiliation, the courtyards of torture and
abandonment, the hill of execution.
Isaiah’s strange and gripping “Song of the Servant of
God” was to become the song of Jesus. It is the song of
one who strides forward consistently in the face of
criticism, even scorn: “I have not rebelled, have not turned
back.” It is to become our song, as faithful followers of
Jesus Christ.
How are we to react when we hear the account of the
passion and death of the Lord? Paul tells us that our
attitude must be Christ’s, who “emptied himself, taking the
form of a slave.” We pray that we may absorb the attitude
of Christ, and face life squarely in its triumph and its pain.

The Knights of Columbus council is sponsoring
the 40 cans for Lent Food Drive. The goal is for
each council member and each parishioner to
contribute one can of food per day during the
forty days of Lent. The council is organizing a
crew to handle this food drive that contributes directly to our
local food closet. Last year we collected 4,028 lbs. of food.
Please contribute by dropping off cans at church in the
designated receptacles. The Knights of Columbus is committed
to ending hunger in our local communities by asking local
councils to participate in the Order wide Food for Families
Program. Since 2012, the Knights of Columbus have donated
over $2.7 million and 3.8 million pounds of food to local food
pantries, community food banks and soup kitchens.

Small Faith Journey groups are part of the QUEST faith
sharing program at Saint Gall: The session format is
centered on a two-fold process of Hearing the Lord’s
Gospel - Hearing the Gospel’s Lord, in other words, hearing
Jesus’ message and hearing him. We gather, pray, read
Scripture, reflect and share our faith.
The group is:
