VOLUME 41, NUMBER 1 Fall 2014 PRESIDENT’S LETTER “Key to the solving journey and the self-identification of students as problem solvers is the three question model you will read about throughout this edition: What problems are you solving right now? What are you curious about? What could I learn from your work?” I’ve been asked by several people recently what has surprised me most about Benilde-St. Margaret’s School. One thing that comes to mind in response to that question is that I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well poised BSM is to be a truly extraordinary school-a national model of what a Catholic college-preparatory school can be. At Benilde-St. Margaret’s School we are building upon our rigorous academic core, our robust and widely available extracurricular activities, and our nationally recognized programming to further nurture a culture of inquiry for all students at all grade levels. Our sense of communio (Latin for fellowship or community) allows us to teach and learn in a manner that is uniquely Catholic; we all grow as members of a community of learners in a faith-filled and uniquely caring environment. This culture and the manner in which our students strive together to solve problems that matter are key differentiators of the BSM experience. As we look to more fully develop and manifest each student’s solving journey, beginning in 2017 all students will have a Solver’s Portfolio upon graduation that articulates their problemsolving experiences in a relevant, real-world way. This digital portfolio will map each student’s unique solving journey through BSM and we think it will give them a competitive advantage in getting into the college or university of their choice. Key to the solving journey and the self-identification of students as problem solvers is the three question model you will read about throughout this edition: What problems are you solving right now? What are you curious about? What could I learn from your work? Students will be asked these questions repeatedly by faculty, staff, and other members of our community. They will come to expect to be asked these questions and they will know that we expect answers. At Benilde-St. Margaret’s School our primary focus is to develop intelligent, engaged servant leaders who leverage their faith and strive together to solve problems that matter. As we look to the future and work hard to reach our full potential as a school, I am optimistic and energized. It is a great time to be a Red Knight! God bless you, Kevin Gyolai, Ph.D. Fall 2014 • Benilde-St. Margaret’s 3 ATHLETIC Hall of Coaches, Athletes Enter Hall of Fame The BSM Athletic Hall of Fame celebrated its second year of inductees on September 12. It is a wonderful community event honoring the outstanding athletic accomplishments and contributions to the athletic history and traditions of St. Margaret’s Academy, Benilde High School, and Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Whether in his role as teacher, coach, dean, or friend, Jim Joranger personifies the best qualities of Catholic education. Jim started at Benilde High School and made the transition to Benilde-St. Margaret’s. A baseball player at DeLaSalle, Jim demonstrated his versatility by coaching three different Red Knight sports. Gridders, grapplers, and golfers were all guided by “Joe Ranger.” A Benilde alum remembers Jim as, “A tremendous teacher and one of the best coaches I’ve ever had.” Although Jim is no longer on the faculty and coaching roster, we celebrate his legacy on the links each June at the annual Joranger Open. A high school and college runner turned math teacher and coach, Ron Kretsch understands the importance of numbers. His dedication to Benilde, BSM and his students has added up to some pretty impressive numbers of his own: 40 years coaching cross country, 38 years teaching math, and 25 years as a track coach. Included in those years are: 17 cross country and 6 track conference championships, 4 Catholic State High School Cross Country Championships, 11 individual state titles and one relay state title. 4 Benilde-St. Margaret’s • Fall 2014 Basketball was king and rivalries were fierce in 1966 when Art Moore ’66 was ending his outstanding career as a Red Knight cager. The team, coached by Bill Haben, captured the C.C.C. Championship with an 8-0 record. By all accounts, Art’s fast break and strong defense played a key role in the Red Knight victories. His deadly accuracy from the free throw line made opposing teams dread number 24. A latecomer to track and field, Art also made his mark on that sport. His outstanding vertical from basketball translated well into success in the high jump and hurdles. Art continued his basketball career as a scholarship player for the Creighton Blue Jays. Playing hockey for Benilde was just the beginning for Jeff Rochat-Boeser ’71. Trading in his Benilde red for Tommie purple, number 13 was twice named to the All-MIAC team. His junior and senior year, Jeff lead the University of St. Thomas hockey team to consecutive NAIA national championships, and was named the conference’s Most Valuable Performer in 1974. Jeff is third on the UST all-time scoring list and fifth on the same MIAC list. After college, Jeff played on the 1976 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team. The only Red Knight to claim the title of Olympian, he was also a member of the Finnish elite hockey league in Europe. A member of the St. Thomas Athletic Hall of Fame, Jeff recently returned to UST to work with the hockey program and was named head coach in 2010. 2014 Inductees—All of the 2014 Hall of Fame inductees were present for the celebration: (l-r) Ron Kretsch, Jeff Rochat-Boeser ’71, Paul Hazuka ’75, Jill Somers Riverso ’77, Jim Joranger, Peggy Kemp Kratz ’78, Pat Kocourek ’85 and Art Moore ’66 A standout in three sports – football, basketball, and track – Paul Hazuka ’75 made his mark in the history books in track. In Benilde’s last year, Paul won the independent schools’ state championship in two events, individually in the 880, and as a member of the mile relay team. Then, during the first year of BSM, the independent schools were moved into the Minnesota State High School League. Paul was the first ever private school student to win a Minnesota State High School League championship. With that title, he also became BSM’s first state champion. Paul continued his success on the track and the football field at St. John’s University. Hamline’s 1979-1980 Women’s AIAW National Championship Team. A two-time college state swimming champion, Peggy earned five All-American titles. Her record for the 500 freestyle still stands at St. Catherine’s. This is Peggy’s third Hall of Fame Induction – she is already a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame at Hamline University and St. Catherine’s. BSM’s first female state champion earned her honors in the pool. Peggy Kemp Kratz ’78 swam for BSM’s co-ed team for three years and was a proud member of the first girls’ swim team her senior year. She was state champion in the 200 and 500 freestyle. In college, Peggy swam for Hamline University and the College of St. Catherine. She was a member of Nominations for the 2015 Hall of Fame will be accepted through May 15, 2015. Although Jill Somers Riverso ’77 lists five sports on her high school resume, basketball was really her game. As part of the state championship team at St. Margaret’s Academy her freshman year, Jill continued her winning tradition at BSM. Thanks to Jill and her teammates, the Red Knights were a force to be reckoned with. Conference Champions in ’75, ’76, and ’77, the girls advanced to the State tournament in both ’76 and ’77. After her college basketball career, Jill brought her competitive spirit back to Benilde-St. Margaret’s where she coached the girls’ basketball team for six very successful seasons. The rising popularity of soccer in the ‘80s brought with it a new crop of athletes. Pat Kocourek ’85 quickly rose to the top. One of the top five all-time scorers for BSM, Pat led the Red Knights to a conference title his senior year. Pat also captained the hockey and tennis teams in his senior year. In fact, for hockey, Pat is fifth on BSM’s list for career goals and in the top ten for career points. Playing soccer for Providence College, Pat earned All-New England and All-Big East honors. He remains number two on the all-time scoring list for the Friars. Pat was also invited to the USA National Select Team tryouts after college, and was the first Red Knight to play professional soccer. Pat played for the Minnesota Thunder from 1990-1992. Go to www.BSMschool.org/athletichalloffame to download the nomination form. Only with your help can we truly honor those deserving a Hall of Fame induction. Fall 2014 • Benilde-St. Margaret’s 5 Cover Story By Lynnette Dobberpuhl BSM Reflections: What Can We Learn From Your Work? For decades there has been a rewarding relationship between Benilde-St. Margaret’s School and Hammer Residences. Hammer provides BSM students hands-on opportunities to live out their faith through service, and widen their understanding of human differences, need and dignity. BSM students provide energetic companionship while helping residents with outings, events and social activities. Recently, one answer to the question “What can we learn from your work?” was actively explored at a workshop where Hammer Residences clients and staff shared their experience and knowledge of grassroots advocacy with BSM students. Four BSM alumni who work in various capacities at Hammer Residences have also put their thoughts together in answer to the questions, “How did your BSM experience prepare you for what you do today?” and “What can we learn from your work?” I have worked at Hammer Residences for the last three and a half years. I started working in direct care as a manager of one of our group home programs. Currently, I am the Communication Specialist. I run all of our social media platforms and a weekly blog, keep our website up to date, coordinate media relations, assist with print media projects and continually work with my director to share the stories of Hammer in a respectful and meaningful way. Devin Harrington ’05 Through my work at Hammer, I have come to know the difference between a job and a true vocation. It is one thing to get up each weekday and do what you need to do to earn some money and gain professional experience. It is quite another thing to get up, go to a place where you can do both of those things and also get a sense of fulfillment from what you do, knowing that you are making a positive difference in your part of the world. My work at Hammer constantly reminds me of the concepts of solidarity and option for the poor and vulnerable, two tenets of Catholic Social Teaching, that I first learned about at BSM. Working for an organization whose mission is so closely aligned with these values is important to me and is quite rewarding. At both BSM and Hammer, I have found strong communities committed to service, stewardship, respect and compassion. 6 Benilde-St. Margaret’s • Fall 2014 I have been a receptionist at Hammer for 14 years. Our mission at Hammer is to provide children and adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live life to its fullest. A greeting filled with a warm feeling of hospitality that provides top notch customer service is my goal as the first point of contact for people who call or come through the door. I have developed relationships with those we serve, their family members, and our employees. Volunteering is another opportunity I’ve been involved in at Hammer. I have to say that Hammer has been the best place to work, and the sense of community that I found at Benilde-St. Margaret’s is something that I valued and wanted to find at my place of employment. Stefanie Rea Miller ’85 No matter where we’re at in our lives, the things that are core to who we are as individuals can be a guiding light for us in life. Community—the coming together of many unique people—is what has made my career rich and satisfying. During my time at BSM, I participated in many activities, including P.R.O. (Peers Respecting Others), Link Crew, volunteering at Jones-Harrison Residence, and participating on both the basketball and track teams. Throughout my many experiences and opportunities at BSM, I learned a lot of different things about service, giving back to the community, and what it means to be a servant leader. Upon graduating, I pursued a degree in psychology from the College of Saint Benedict, where my skills and experiences acquired from BSM helped me to graduate this past spring and secure a job with Hammer Residences. Tish Alexander ’10 For the past four months, I have been working as the Assistant Program Manager (APM) of the Unity house at Hammer, providing individuals with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live a more independent and fulfilling life. As the APM, I help the ladies in my house with financial affairs, I take them out into the community to make connections and be more independent, and I also give them the respect they deserve as individuals in our community. The work I do daily reminds me of a quote I learned in 11th grade Christian Service class at BSM: “Being a leader is not about the number of people that follow you, but about the number of people you serve.” It is apparent in the work I do every day the impact BSM has had on me, and through my experiences gained, I have been able to put my skills to use and be the servant leader I was taught to be. Through my 24 years at Hammer, I have had multiple roles, the last six as the Director of Information Systems. As Director of IS, I am responsible for the budget, management and security of our network and data infrastructure. All of my roles over the years at Hammer have taught me countless lessons that often come into play. The most critical work lesson I have learned is to stay focused on our mission of supporting individuals to experience life to its fullest. Maintaining that focus, we feel we can’t go wrong as a department no matter what direction the ever-changing world of technology takes us. In the IS Department we feel we are keeping that focus if the hardware or software solutions we put in place not only meet the tech needs, but also help the organization become more efficient, thereby allowing the staff/volunteers to stay focused on the individuals, not on the technology. Dan Bottiger ’86 The biggest value lesson from my time at Hammer is that the people (the individuals, staff and volunteers) are much more important than the paycheck. The sense of community within this organization is the value-add that I could never quantify. Occasionally there are struggles and frustrations in my job, but I really don’t have to go too far before the struggle turns into an opportunity. Even though I have a basement office tucked away from most of our 500+ employees, I often get to go to one of our 46 homes or apartments. These opportunities are what continually reinvigorate me. I see firsthand Hammer’s mission in practice, the commitment of very dedicated and caring staff and volunteers. Reflecting back on my four years at BSM, I learned how the uniqueness in everybody is what really makes this sense of community so wonderful. Learning the value of this broad sense of community has followed me through my career. I have had the opportunity to work with people from all over the world whose life experiences are totally different than mine. Sitting and talking with, as well as learning about those around me has really broadened my perspective, not only in how I do my job, but in how I live my life. Fall2013 2014• •Benilde-St. Benilde-St.Margaret’s Margaret’s5 7 Summer g right now? • What are you curious about? • What could I learn from your work? • What problems are you solving right now? • What are you curi Questions Lead to Opportunities “What sparks your curiosity?” For Nicole Sauer, a strong sense of curiosity has landed her in a grain processing plant in Memphis, Tennessee. Technically, Nicole, a 2012 alumna and valedictorian, is a student at The University of Minnesota’s College of Science and Engineering. She is working at the Cargill plant as part of a cooperative education program with the U. While working at a processing plant seems to be an odd place for a 20-year-old college student, Nicole’s quest for answers has her straying from the traditional college path to blaze her own. As a freshman studying to earn her degree in chemical engineering, Nicole received a mass e-mail from the engineering school about a research fellowship through the University of Delaware and the Department of Energy. These fellowships are extremely competitive and almost always reserved for upperclassmen, but Nicole was curious. She asked one of the professors on the committee to tell her more about the opportunity. Then, with his encouragement, she applied for, and, to her surprise, received the grant. She spent the summer following her freshman year getting paid by the federal government to work in a laboratory, researching ways to make the process of separating chemicals in the refining of ethanol more efficient. Nicole’s original goal upon starting the project was to uncover ways to make energy sources (biofuels, wind and solar energy) ecologically sustainable for a global society that is expected to grow to nine billion people by 2050. Realizing that energy was only part of the equation, Nicole fueled her growing curiosity. She went from wondering, “How do we provide power to nine billion people?” to “How do we maximize the resources we have available to feed them?” To find answers to that question, Nicole understood she needed real-world experience. So she took a semester off from school to work in the co-op program for Cargill. By stepping out of her student-researcher role into the position of full-time employee, Nicole began to witness firsthand the engineering processes behind food production. It is messy work at times, but Nicole is passionate and proud to be part of a team that is developing new procedures to get the most out of each and every harvest. The coming year brings with it a new adventure. In January, Nicole will leave for a semester abroad in Florence, Italy. She plans to recharge her academic battery by studying art history, photography, Italian and the violin. When she returns to Minnesota next spring, her plan is to work for Cargill for the summer at a different plant to deepen her understanding of food production. Fall will find her back at the U, finishing her degree. As Nicole moves forward with her education and research, the BSM community takes great pride in knowing that her willingness to work both inside and outside the classroom to uncover answers to looming global problems makes the future look brighter for all of us. Striving together to solve 8 Benilde-St. Margaret’s • Fall 2014 problem s that matt er By Sandy Janssen Barry ’ 86 ious about? • What could I learn from your work? • What problems are you solving right now? • What are you curious about? • What could I learn Joe Frenz ’78 remembers reading about the great wildfires in Yellowstone in 1988 and having it pique his interest. At the time, there was a family business to run and children to raise and send to school. (Daughters Jessica ’05 and Jennifer ’07 both graduated from BSM.) The thought and the article were both filed away. A year later, there was another article in the paper about a wildfire and those who fought it, only this time he left it out for his wife to see, and he asked her what she thought. He decided to take one five-day course. Today, Joe is one of the most sought-after fire technicians in the country, a leader in the “hot shot” firefighter world. He has completed over 50 training courses and teaches many of them himself. Joe is often the first one on the scene when disaster strikes. He’s a task force leader, sometimes on the job by himself and sometimes in charge of hundreds of people. Not only fires, but hurricanes, floods, and missing-persons cases – to name a few – all receive Joe’s quick response. Five years ago, he led the successful completion of a 500-acre fire in Floodwood, Minnesota. That experience solidified his tenacity and ability to lead while the fires raged. He was praised for his grace under fire…literally. Experiences like that “make you feel good about what you’ve learned, prepared, and trained for. You’ve got no time to think,” says Joe. This past summer in Idaho, Joe was the first person on the scene for a 16-acre fire in the middle of millions of dollars of timber. He fought for five days with over one hundred people. With the family auto-repair business being sold in 2013 after a 32-year run, Joe could be enjoying the fruits of his labor. Instead, he's busier than ever, spending about 60 percent of the year working for the Minnesota DNR, doing instruction, and the remainder of the time working for the US Forest Service. He’s been on assignment in almost every state and gets called for out-of-state assignments almost every month. He has no plans to retire, and sheepishly admits that he does enjoy “beating the younger people” in their physical tests of carrying a 45-pound pack for three miles in under 45 minutes. (He can do it in less than 35 minutes!) Joe’s quick ascent in the ranks in his industry attests to his ability as a leader. He describes his leadership style as “treating people like you’d like to be treated” and credits his Catholic education for helping him develop his guiding principle of “caring for people.” The safety and well-being of his teams is paramount. Joe is a shining example of a Red Knight who is humbly and successfully solving problems that matter. Love for Adventure Ignites New Passion By Katie DesLauriers Sullivan’ 99 Fall 2014 • Benilde-St. Margaret’s 9 BSM BUZZ Danny Fritsche ‘15 took first place at the North American Sport Karate Association's (NASKA's) largest tournament, Diamond Nationals, to become the national champion in black belt team form. He and his teammate then competed for the world title on the championship stage on October 11. Their efforts resulted in a third place finish. Danny, a third degree black belt, is one of only 12 National Karate competitors who have made it to the championship stage in 37 years of Diamond Nationals’ history. The Red Knights were well represented at the state meet. Five swimmers covered seven events. At the section meet in individual events Madison Semler ’17 qualified in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle. Claire Torgerson ’17 qualified in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly, and Ava Schieffert ’19 advanced in the 50-yard freestyle. Grace Hedin won both the 200- and 100-yard freestyle. The 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays set meet records at sections with Torgerson, Schieffert, Maria Satre ’17, and Hedin. Grace Hedin was named the Swimmer of the Meet. As the reunion coordinator and facilitator, I have the privilege of interacting with many of our wonderful graduates. Recently I had the opportunity to meet with two very special alumnae and listen to their stories. Eileen Comer Costello (left) and Marilyn Comer Tellers are sisters in more than one sense of the word. The two oldest of six children, they are St. Margaret’s Academy sisters as well. Eileen graduated in 1939, and Marilyn in 1941. The Comer sisters attended SMA when it was housed in the McNair Mansion, right next to the Basilica of St. Mary. The school was later torn down to make room for Interstate Highway 94. Some people might assume that since their school was housed in a mansion, the girls attending SMA must come from privileged families. “Not true,” says Eileen. By her estimation, at least half of the girls in her class worked at the school, cooking in the lunchroom and cleaning classrooms to pay their way. Eileen started at SMA as the Great Depression was winding down. Their family of eight lived in a two-bedroom bungalow in Bryn Mawr. It was cozy quarters, with the youngest sleeping in his baby buggy in the dining room, but the sisters knew they were blessed. Their father was able to keep his position in the Sporting and Luggage Department at Dayton’s throughout the economic crisis. The bombing of Pearl Harbor occurred in December of Marilyn's senior year. She remembers feeling as if all the men were gone, off fighting the unseen enemy. Homecoming Royalty Shelby Erickson and Jay Weber Junior Mae Fullerton qualified for the state cross county meet by placing in the top 10 at the 6AA Section Meet on October 22. Sitting at Good Day Café, chatting over lunch, the sisters laugh and take turns reminiscing about their time at SMA. Eileen remembers playing an Ethiopian slave in the school production of A Dream of Queen Esther. They had three performances, two in the afternoon and one at night. The nuns were front and center for the afternoon shows, but were not allowed out at night to attend the finale. The play was very serious, but the girls found ways to jazz up the evening performance and made the final performance a comedy. Marilyn speaks fondly of her teachers from SMA. She learned to sew from her home economics teacher, Charlotte Stevens, the only lay person teaching at the school. Both sisters helped their mother make their uniforms, blue jumpers with a white, buttondown shirt and a blue ribbon bow tie. They even made special skirts to wear over their gym shorts in case they went outside. (SMA students were not allowed to show their legs in public.) Instead of the skirts having to be a certain length, they had to be 12 inches off the floor. That way, in pictures, the hems were all even. Sister Vincent De Paul, or Sister VDP, was their favorite math teacher, and Sister Joan taught English. Her passion was contagious, and she instilled in both sisters a deep love of reading. Eileen graduated at the Alvin Theatre downtown, and Marilyn’s commencement was at the Woman’s Club. Each participated in the tradition of wearing a white cap and gown with white pumps and carrying a dozen red roses. The sisters were happy to hear that our female graduates still carry flowers on graduation day. We continue to visit with our alumni, parents and friends to discuss how your philanthropic gifts can further the student experience at BSM. The following pages recognize the members and friends of our community who have supported the mission of BSM. With this support, the students of Benilde-St. Margaret’s will be prepared today to strive together to solve problems that matter for tomorrow. Thank you for wholeheartedly being a part of this wonderful community. We are looking forward to much more in 2014-2015. Sincerely, Richard J. Our 40th birthday offered the opportunity to reflect on the past and to honor the multitude of supporters who have invested in the school’s mission. With their help, Benilde-St. Margaret’s is the top Catholic college-preparatory experience in the Twin Cities. Thank you! We owe special thanks to Dr. Bob Tift ’71 who served our community for 22 years with a huge heart for our mission. His legacy will endure in the yearly tuition assistance that the Bob Tift Endowment will provide. Last year also was marked by continued progress toward bolstering the school’s solid financial platform. This is critical for several reasons. First, Benilde-St. Margaret’s must continue to be accessible and affordable for families in order to meet its Catholic mission. Importantly, nearly $1.4 million of tuition assistance was provided to more than 200 students in 2013-14; however, this support falls short of covering all demonstrated need. Second, the school’s facilities and programs require regular investment in order to preserve and advance them. As a result, the school has begun to develop a longer term facilities plan that will align with the strategic priorities of BSM2020 and will require significant future investment. Finally, Benilde-St. Margaret’s expects its faculty/staff to deliver a stellar student experience and, in return, we must continue to provide competitive compensation packages to retain the talented employees who are the daily foundation on which our community depends. Looking toward Benilde-St. Margaret’s future under the leadership of Dr. Kevin Gyolai, we are all called to reflect on our community’s strategic vision: striving together to solve problems that matter. As Board chair and a parent of four students/ alumni, the “problem that matters” that holds my attention is a vital future for Benilde-St. Margaret’s. There are many challenges, including an archdiocese in crisis and shrinking Catholic elementary school enrollment. However, working together, the opportunities are greater. Benilde-St. Margaret’s is poised to become a model for what works in Catholic education, developing caring and curious collaborators who understand what God asks of each of us and who build the Kingdom of God in the here and now … one day, one encounter, one problem solved, at a time. Thank you for supporting Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Together, our gifts provide much needed funding for delivering a student experience that’s marked by a culture of inquiry with a solid moral focus. Together, our ongoing and generous support will enable Benilde-St. Margaret’s to continue to form new servant leaders who will tackle and solve the “problems that matter” for our world. With gratitude, Sheila Letscher Letscher Family—Sheila and Tom (seated); (l-r) Samantha '14, Dan '13, Sarah '16, and Abby '18 22 • Benilde-St. Margaret’s • Annual Report 2013-2014 Annual Report Financial Reports Operating Income Mission Benilde-St. Margaret’s is a dynamic Catholic learning community which partners with parents/guardians to develop the student’s highest potential in mind, body, and spirit. Our Knight for All Seasons auction plays a vital role in fostering the sense of community and reinforcing the ties between fellow parents, alumni, faculty and staff, and friends of BSM. Additionally, this event provides vital funds to the school’s operating budget each year. Last year, our Knight for All Seasons auction provided general operating support for the school as well as tuition assistance for our students. We are grateful for the individuals and organizations that contributed to making our evening such a success. 38 • Benilde-St. Margaret’s • Annual Report 2013-2014 Individual Supporters Anonymous Anonymous Anonymous Anonymous Anonymous Anonymous Anonymous Anonymous Anonymous Anonymous Anonymous Thomas Abts and Sandra Corbett-Abts Paul and Patricia Adams Jeffrey and Kathleen Adamson Mark and Patricia Ahern Steven and Laura Alexander Geoffrey Allen and Kathleen Fitzgerald Allen Daniel and Mary Ambre Marc and Mary Andersen David and Paula Anderson Kurt and Mary Anderson Marc and Molly Anderson Jason and Sheila Anderson Greg and Lisa Appelhof Peter and Oufreez Argenta Douglas and Susan Arndt Mark and Susan Austin Michael and Suzanne Austin Shawn Austin and Molly Monahan Thomas Backen Charles and Paula Baker Brian and Sandra Barry Ted and Patricia Bather James and Jean Becker Jon Beckstrand and Marianne Herrmann William and Laurie Beise Steve and Patricia Bernstein Michael and Amanda Berthoud Todd and Patricia Bertram Chris and Julie Beutz Peter and Lizabeth Birkeland Robert and Elizabeth Birney Brian and Lisa Biwer Archie Black and Jane McDonald Black Tony and Elizabeth Boase Carolyn Bohn Nelson Peter and Rebecca Boosalis Richard and Laura Bray Thomas and Sharon Brennan Jeffrey and Victoria Brink David and Sally Brinza David and Katherine Bromelkamp William and Lynn Brown Eric Bruggemann and Kerry Cooley Bruggemann Tim and Yvonne Brustad Jennifer Bucklew Timothy and Kathryn Buggy Stan and Lynn Burn Robert and Susan Burns Robert and Marney Buss Kevin and Jill Byrnes John and Leslie Cadle Scott and Kristine Carlston Scott and Louann Carpenter James and Kimberly Cassens Thomas and Corinn Cella Manisha Chainani Douglas and Pamela Christensen Anthony and Mary Ann Clacko Mike and Alison Coffey Phillip and Mary Jo Cole James Commers and Catherine Flaherty Paul and Corrina Conley Peter and Laura Conlon Kevin and Maristel Conry Anita Conway Daniel and Sharis Cooley Doug and Ann Cooley Timothy and Colleen Cooley John and Brenda Cooney Lawrence Cosslett and Sara Mortimore William and Pam Cottrell Robert and Amy Coulombe Scott and Amy Creutzmann James and Mary Cron Earl and Jennifer Cutter Patrick and Michelle Daly George and Carol Daum Charlie Daum Jeff and Monette Day Paul and Susan DeJute Meghan Lind DesLauriers Matt and Theresa Deterding Terrence Diaferio Kevin and Kathleen Dillon Tom and Stephanie Drees Gerald and Nancy Driessen James and Megan Dunbar Steven Dunbar Matthew Dunn Carla Durand John and Caron Dwyer Timothy and Cynthia Ehlen Wayne and Katherine Eldevik John and Ruth Eliason Frank and Lisa Elsenbast Tom and Katherine Emmel Jon and Michelle Engstrand Jeffrey and Kristin Evanson David and Vicki Fagerlee Douglas and Marie Falls Albert Fan and Susan Wollan Fan John and Susan Farrell Gerard and Tiffane Ferrer Joseph and Stephanie Fitzgerald Eric Flom and Nancy Nelsen-Flom R.
