201 4 Pinot Noir sonoma coast Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir Appellation: Sonoma Coast, CA Barrel: Aged in French Oak Barrels (30% New) Alcohol: 14.5% Tas t i ng N ot es : Look: Color is bright burgundy with an inviting deep red hue. Smell: The nose is lively, yet structured. Bright red cherries, strawberries, raspberries, plum, and subtle toasty oak. Taste: Crushed raspberries and ripe red cherry burst out of the glass from this perfectly balanced Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. A full midpalate of red berries and plum lead to a lingering finish of fruit and acid with lightly toasted oak and subtle earthy notes. There is a distinctive silky and caramelized taste and texture to this wine. the project: Taken Wine Company was founded in 2009 when next generation winemakers, Carlo Trinchero and Josh Phelps realized their mutual dream to start their own wine label. Josh and Carlo grew up together in the winegrowing town of St. Helena, in the Napa Valley—wine is in their DNA. The wines are crafted to appeal to the millennial generation in terms of both what’s inside and outside the bottle.
