Our welcome is more than a greeting.
It’s a promise.
Mohawk graduates acquire the education needed
to pursue their career and life dreams. But education
is just the beginning. In most programs, through labs,
co-op opportunities, internships, and research, Mohawk
students experience hands-on training and are prepared
to put their education to work.
Around the world
at Mohawk College
International students come to Mohawk
for an education. But they get so much more.
Our international students and graduates have shared many stories expressing appreciation
for experiences at Mohawk College. Some talk about their education and the professors who
inspired them; others write about life at Mohawk and the support they received; while others
speak about the great opportunities available both while studying
and after graduation.
Mohawk College offers over 125 programs to 13,000
full time students, 43,000 part time and over 4,000
apprenticeship students. Mohawk welcomes over
1,200 international students annually, representing
more than 70 countries, from around the world.
Mohawk maintains connections with over 1000
employers in our region to ensure opportunities are
available for graduates. It's gratifying that our grads
have earned a 94% approval rating, a measure of our
strong employer relationships.

Mohawk College’s catalogue of more than 125 programs allows students to choose from a wide range
of options, from studying the latest in aircraft technology to understanding the beating of the human
heart to learning what it takes to start a new business.
As important as the programs we offer, is how they’re offered. At Mohawk education starts in the
classroom, but preparation for the working world continues through hands-on learning in laboratories
and simulated work environments, through applied research projects, and on co-operative work
placements (often paid positions). The opportunity to combine a college diploma with a university
degree, or to earn both credentials simultaneously, is made possible through the partnership between
Mohawk College and McMaster University. For information on all your options, visit our calendar at

CURRENT STUDENT
We are here for you
Language & Culture Centre
International Student Services supports you
from your airport arrival to graduation.
An exciting facet of the services available to international students at Mohawk is our new
Language & Culture Centre (LCC). In the LCC we offer a range of services and programs to
support students as they adjust to life at a new school and in a new country. IELTS Testing as
well as courses in English and Culture, for academics or business, are all part of the offering.
We know that crossing oceans and borders to get
to school is a giant step for any student. At Mohawk,
our International Student Services staff are experts at
helping students get settled. We offer support from
arrival right through graduation.
Just some of the ways we’ll make sure
you feel welcome.
Airport pick-up: Mohawk is a short drive from
Pearson International Airport in Toronto. Students
can request to be met upon arrival and will be
assisted with luggage and transportation directly
to a residence or other accommodation.
Accommodation – Where to live: There are three
accommodation options available to International
Students at Mohawk.
• Homestay – offering the opportunity to live
with a Canadian family during your studies
• Mohawk Residence – comfortable and
affordable on-campus living
• Off-Campus Housing – your own place in a nearby
neighbourhood with easy access to campus
Connect with a Student Mentor: Before arrival
in Canada, students can request to be paired with an
International Student Mentor, from the same country
when possible. These international student volunteers
have spent at least one full semester at Mohawk and
can help with all kinds of information on what to pack,
what life is like in Canada and the Mohawk student
experience. Feeling at home in a new country can take
time, but it’s great to have a friend to help make the
transition a smooth one. Meet Mohawk’s Mentors at

graduation, international students may apply for a Graduate Work Permit
allowing them to work in Canada for a specific time, and extend their stay
