Hairdressing in Edinburgh
and his amazing career is
closely linked to Color Zoom:
In 2010 he won the Global
Color Zoom Creative Category
and was part of the Color Zoom
Creative Team in 2012.
Being a Color Zoom Master
2014 and returning to the
Master Team this year, Neil is
contributing all his talent and
experience to supporting
the Global Winners.
Lidia Malez is a rising star
in the hairdressing industry.
The 26 year-old Russian from
Moscow had already completed
the Goldwell Master Colorist
Program before she won
Gold in the Color Zoom
New Talent Category in Berlin
2014. Lidia is passionate
about fashion, and is currently
studying Fashion Styling to
expand her skill set.

What’s next in fashion?
What seasonal colors and shapes will prevail at next year’s fashion shows? Our fashion
scouts are already on their journey to scan the hot spots around the globe. The findings
of their research are shared, discussed and analyzed with Goldwell and the Color Zoom
Global Masters in a two-day fashion insight workshop. The results of these fashion
insights are the basis of the new Color Zoom Collection.

Berlin hustles harder – and right in the heart of Europe we were
ready to bring the new D!SRUPT Collection to life. An international
fashion photographer, wardrobe experts and make-up artists
teamed up to perfectly stage the collection our Color Zoom
­Creative Team developed during the workshop in London.

The Color Zoom Creative Team begins an inspiring and intense week at the Goldwell
Academy in London. After a week of fashion trend analyzing, pure inspiration, brain­
storming, practical work and creative color sessions, the new D!SRUPT trend is born.
The workshop week creates the framework for the collection and unites the creative
team into a team of Creative Disruptors.

BY USING THE LIGHT PLAY TECHNIQUE.
USE CUT AS A DISRUPTIVE ELEMENT TO
DISTORT THE ROUNDED SHAPES.
Imagine the visual effect of a spot light, a laser light or ambient light and think of ways to utilize these elements to achieve new hair color effects.
The Color Zoom ’16 Creative Team thought exactly this way and how to transfer these disruptive light effects into color, creating the Laser Light,
Spot Light and Ambient Light Color Effects, which are achieved with the Light Play Technique.
All shapes in the D!SRUPT Collection have interesting silhouettes which can be accentuated with the Light Play
Technique. Our three different Color Effects support the geometric aspect of the cut, building excitement
and a volume effect. Characteristic for all cuts are distorted, round shapes which are exaggerated in some areas
to create strong but disruptive geometrics. External layering is also used to create interesting cut out lines
and internal layering to distort the shape. All these are important elements of the cut concept.
These three different color effects showcase the color as the disruptive element in creative fashion styles. Also, the way the color is placed,
applied and influenced by light can create an additional color effect. This is why it’s called Light Play Technique.
For a multiple-disruption combine two of the three Light Color Effects in one style.
LASER LIGHT COLOR EFFECT
A Deep Neutral Background is disrupted by one striking
Vibrant Accent which is clearly separated and seen in the
composition as a laser. The Laser Light Color Effect is the
strongest disruptive color effect and outlines the strong
shape of a style creating tension.
SPOT LIGHT COLOR EFFECT
The Spot Light Color Effect is a softer method of disruption in which the Vibrant Accents start separate but then
fuse together. This color effect mostly accentuates the
interior layering and lengths of a disrupted style.
The disruption is created by two Vibrant Accents and
showcases a softer fusion, melting into the Deep Neutral
Background to create expansion.

AMBIENT LIGHT COLOR EFFECT
Comparable with mood lighting you can create a seamless
diffusion between the Deep Neutral Background and the
Vibrant Accents use the Ambient Light Color Effect.
Two or more Vibrant Accents diffuse and melt into each
other and into the Deep Neutral Background to create a
soft dimension in shape and overall style.
Create the disrupted styles by using various cutting techniques such as (Free Hand) Slice Cutting,
(Deep) Point Cutting and Carving.
USE STYLING AND TEXTURE AS A DISRUPTIVE ELEMENT
AND CREATE WEIGHTLESS VOLUME.
Volume that is weightless, that somehow defies gravity, is one element of disruption in the
D!SRUPT Collection. Similar to the volume that static electricity creates in hair, the texture is without
definable form or mass. Volume is used to expand the cuts and shapes, but disrupt them in the same time.
Color effects can be amplified by a shiny surface combined in parallel with odd matte textures,
creating expansion that diffuses the color. To disrupt the rounded shapes use soft interior texture and
odd combinations of multi textures.

The Color Zoom ’16 Creative Team has created Deep Neutral Backgrounds as a perfect stage for Disruptive Vibrant Accents.
The 6 Deep Neutrals are earthy, cool shades which are perfectly harmonized with warm saturation, creating a new fusion blend of deep neutral colors.
They range from Chestnut and Taupe to Twilight, and all of them can be created by mixing existing warm and cool shades
in the Topchic, Colorance and Nectaya color ranges.

A classic below-the-shoulder length cut
with interior layering and a cut-out asymmetric fringe for a sexy modern style. The

Disrupt a classic geometric bob with interior
layers. Create a sexy round shape with an
interesting silhouette. Disrupt the front with
a strong graphic cut-out fringe. Disconnect
