Isabelle Chapuis
We eagerly agree with the San Francisco Chronicle writer who declared that Isabelle is
“a sensation...French to her fingertips.” Born in the French region of Burgundy, she
studied with some of France’s most legendary flutists, including Jean-Pierre Rampal,
Michel Debost, Gaston Crunelle, Alain Marion, Christian Larde, and Marcel Moyse.
Isabelle Chapuis Starr, flutist with Opera San Jose, is a retired faculty member at
San Jose State University.

the West in Santa Barbara.
Bulent Evcil

Ms. McKee has performed as soloist many times with the SFS, including performances of
the Bach Brandenburg Concertos.
Nika Rejto
www.NikaRejto.com
Perhaps one of the best kept secrets in the Bay Area Jazz Scene is Nika Rejto, flutist
extraordinaire. She’s living proof that good things come in small packages, yet despite
her pixie-like demeanor, this lady can swing with the best. Dr. Herb Wong says, “Anyone
hearing Nika is simply knocked out by her remarkably gorgeous tone - something from
the angels.” Jack Bowers of Jazz Now compares her to “Old hands Frank Wess, Herbie
Mann, James Moody.”
Matej Zupan
www.MatejZupan.com
Matej ZUPAN (born 1970, Slovenija-Europe) is a Professor at the Academy of Music at
University of Ljubljana. From 1996 to 2008 he was the principal flutist of the Slovenian

soloist with the Baltimore Symphony. As an orchestral flutist, she has performed with the
Berkeley and San Jose Symphonies, has served as principal flute at the Anchorage Festival

the founding Director of the Stanford Flute Ensemble and the Director of the Northern
California Flute Camp in Carmel Valley. She has been named to Who’s Who in America.
Magicflutes Flute Choir, Pamela Ravenelle, Director
Flutist Pamela Ravenelle received her Master of Music degree from the San Francisco
Conservatory of Music majoring in Flute Performance, where she studied with Barbara
Breeden. She also holds a Community College credential. She also studied privately

cum laude from the Eastman School of Music with a BA in Music and Mathematics
