Sharman Owings
Drawing, painting, textiles, clay: it doesn’t matter
the material, creating has been an integral part
of my life since I was a child. Making things
has always seemed like an uncomplicated way
to express. Sometimes it’s cooking, sometimes
sewing and often painting. You might even catch
me in my husband’s sculpture studio, bronze
in hand.
At this juncture my work is heavily weighted to
portraiture, both human and pet. I guess in some ways it has come full circle. The human
face and figure holds more intrigue than almost any other subject.
