_____________________________________________________________________________________
Before any homeowner rents or sells his/her home in Glenwood, the homeowner must come to the office, state
the intention to rent or sell, and obtain an application for the potential buyer or renter to complete and return to the
office.
If you have a major problem regarding the Glenwood comunity. DO NOT CALL THE BOARD MEMBERS. Put your problem or request in writing and deliver it to the office. It will be considered at the next Board Meeting
and you will receive a written reply regarding your letter.
Residents need permission from the BOD first and a Pinellas County permit second to remove a tree with a
trunk diameter of four inches or more. Refusal to follow the law could result in a significant fine.

Ten Guidelines on How to
Fly the United States Flag
Information provided by the VFW
______________________________________
1. The flag should be hoisted briskly and
lowered ceremoniously.
2. The flag is never allowed to touch the
ground or the floor.
3. When hung over a sidewalk on a rope
extending from a building to a pole, the union stars are always away from the
building.
4. When vertically hung over the center of the street, the flag always has the
union stars to the north in an east/west street, and to the east in a north/south
street.
5. The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the
highest point of the group when a number of flags of states or localities or
pennants of societies are grouped and displayed from staffs.
6. The flag should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds but always
allowed to fall free.
7. The flag should be displayed at half-staff until noon on Memorial Day and
then raised to the top of the staff.
8. Never fly the flag upside down except as a signal of distress in instances of
extreme danger to life or property.
9. The flag is never flown in inclement weather except when using an all-weather
flag.
10. The flag can be flown every day from sunrise to sunset and at night if illuminated properly.

A
ttention ALL residents in town and out of town.
With all of the frequent rain storms, it is causing
rapid weed growth. This is a reminder to have your
caretaker check on your unit regularly. This is the unit owners
responsibility to stay on top of things or the Board has the
authority to get someone and the unit owner will be charged.
Reminder regarding pets in Glenwood Estates. In the
event the pet defecates within the Condominium property, the owner of that pet shall be
required to pick up and dispose of the waste properly.
Please routinely check your sprinkler timers to make sure they are operating correctly. If your sprinkler goes off on days not scheduled or proper watering time, the unit
owner can be cited by Swiftmud.
Have you had the opportunity to check the pool out? We have had numerous compliments on the painting of the cool deck. Please thank both Phil Tua and paul Davis
(maintenance) for a job well done!

he Glenwood Community would like to thank the Social Committee for purchasing

With thanks to Jim and Marilyn Alcoba for applying a new coat of paint on the
poker table in the clubhouse. We thank them also for planting flowers around the clubhouse sign below the flag pole. It looks very nice and colorful!

New Investment Strategy:
Don’t Invest?
____________________________________________________________________
T
he stock market may have rebounded from the
nosedive it took in 2008, but investors’ confidence apparently hasn’t. A survey by Prudential
Finance of 1,000 investors found that 58 percent say
they have lost their faith in the stock market, and 44
percent say they never plan to invest their money in
the market again. Still, investment experts expect that
most “once burned, twice shy” investors will ultimately
return to the fold. (Provided by First Draft)

Do You Know Someone in These Parks?
M
onthly Media is looking for
new parks to add to our growing family of communities. Some of
the parks we would like to add are:
Bay Aristocrat, Bay's End, Gull Aire,
Honeymoon, Isle of Palms, Lowe’s
City, Harbor Lights, Village Green
and Westwind I. If you know someone in another Manufactured Home
community, tell them about us. If they
come to us for printing of their monthly
newsletter, you will receive a one time
payment of $1.00 for every lot in that
park. EXAMPLE: If you send us a
park with 350 units, you will receive
a check for $350.00!
The referred community must give us your name as the
first source of referral. • Parks of 200 units or more are
preferred • Pinellas County parks only • Only adult parks
are accepted • If more than one referral name is given the
earliest name given to us by the park will receive payment.

Notice: Requesting Security
Assistance from Unit Owners
_____________________________________________________________________
P
lease assist our Security Officers by contacting them at 596-2040, after 7:30 p.m. if you
are expecting any guests or delivery to arrive
during the evening hours. WE RECOMMEND
THAT UNIT OWNERS THAT HAVE FAMILY
OR GUESTS THAT ROUTINELY VISIT TO
PICK UP A BLUE “GUEST PASS” FROM THE
OFFICE TO RETAIN FOR FUTURE VISITS.
You may also contact the office during the day
between the hours of 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.,
Mon. - Friday. The office will be more than happy to
notify Security for you in advance of the arrival of your guest(s) and or expected delivery.
This will alleviate delays at the guard post and verified access into the park for your
guest(s) or delivery.
NOTE: Security and the office both share the same telephone number to be contacted.
Please assist with our security measurers by registering ALL VEHICLES with the
office.
REMINDER: ALL “OVERNIGHT GUESTS” MUST BE REGISTERED WITH
THE OFFICE, PER RULES & REGULATIONS.

Hurricane Evacuation
_____________________________________________________________________
I
n order to keep ALL of our
residents safe we have CONFIRMED with Indian Rocks
Baptist Church, upon a MANDATORY EVACUATION they
will take Glenwood Estates residents in. They will NOT accept
any pets.
Please make necessary arrangements in advance for your
pets to guarantee their safety as
well. Please inquire with the office for applications to register your pets at a pet friendly
shelter.
If you would like to know more about preparing ahead for a hurricane, the office has
a notebook that we put together from Pinellas County Emergency Management available
for review. An emergency document checklist is available.
Calling on Residents that Intend to Rent this Fall
_____________________________________________________________________
T
he office has a list of interested parties that would like to rent a unit in Glenwood
Estates.
If you are interested in possibly renting your unit, please contact the office and
Julie will provide you with their information (i.e. smokers/non-smokers, pets/no pets,
email addresses, telephone numbers, and the requested dates to rent). Our requirement is
a minimum of 3 mos. with a maximum of 6 mos.
Don’t wait until fall is here as most interested people will not wait until then. These
people search now so they will know where they will be staying and make arrangements
in advance.
Reminder that an interview must be conducted by the B.O.D. in advance. A $25.00
administrative fee will be charged to the tenant at the time of interview.
May the rainbow always touch your shoulder

A
s a reminder to all our residents regarding the irrigation system, all timers run on
batteries. It is vital to have reserve battery packs in the event of a power outage.
By having a reserve pack this allows the system to continue operating without
any delays due to an outage. This will prevent your sprinklers going off at the wrong time
of day and/or day, therefore your timer will always maintain the accurate time scheduled
to irrigate.
Please pay attention to Glenwood Estates watering schedule listed AND routinely
replace your batteries.

Shuffleboard

D
uring the summer the shufflers meet at the courts to play at 7:00 p.m. on Monday
nights. When there is a Board of Director’s meeting we will meet at 7:00 p.m. on
Thursday night. We have a very nice set of courts in this park and would love to
have more people join us for some fun. Even if you’ve never played, come out, bring a
quarter, and have a good time with people who play. They’re happy to teach newcomers.
We play 5 games switching courts and partners each game. It’s a nice way to get out of
the house, get some fresh air, and enjoy the view of the lake.
Attention Bridge Players

ue to lack of bridge players on Thursdays, the Bridge Club will have to cancel
until further notice.
