Homeowners' Highlights
Board of Directors Report
The members of the board held a working session in late February to
review where we are on some of the issues we have been following.
The subcommittee looking at the Quail Run Employee Handbook and
related policies has been able to review about half of the revised handbook. We hope to complete our review in March and then give the full
board an opportunity to read and endorse the revised handbook.
Marla Thompson is working on another board initiative: removing information regarding unit rentals from the main website for Quail Run members and owners. It
is hoped that the creation of a distinct, rental-focused website will provide potential renters
with the information they need while the main website will no longer raise flags for those
seeking mortgages to buy units for sale.
We have encouraged our committees to continue helping the board find ways to improve the
quality and life style of our community.
Our next board meeting is scheduled for May 1st. Please keep the enclosed schedule which
lists meeting dates and contact information for The Board of Directors. Members and owners
are welcome to attend that meeting.

Tips for Trash Day
Place all of your household trash in garbage bags before putting it inside your rolling green refuse container. This
prevents Quail Run from being cluttered with garbage. Windy weather scatters loose items around the property
when your garbage can is emptied into the truck. Help prevent this problem by ensuring all of your trash is properly
contained in trash bags before taking your garbage container to the street. Trash bins should be placed at the curb
with the open side of the lid facing the street and the handle toward your home. Recyclables can also be placed
curbside in the proper bins on Wednesdays as well. Plaza and Penthouse owners, all trash should be bagged before depositing it in
the community receptacles.
Garbage cans should not be left on the curb prior to 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday mornings and they should be returned to your home
by 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evenings. We appreciate your efforts to eliminate trash in the community.
Walk in the Right Direction
When you take a stroll or jog around the golf course, please follow the signs signaling you to move in the
direction if play, counterclockwise. It may seem odd to walk with your back towards the golfers, but it is
actually safer. Should a ball hit you, it will be less hurtful on the back of your head. The back of your skull has
thicker bones than on the front. These stronger bones can more easily withstand a hit. Many people assume
that they could spot a golf ball that was coming towards them. Given it’s size and speed it is extremely difficult
to react fast enough.
Here are a few other helpful tips. Make sure that the golfers see you. Don’t assume they know where you are. Wait until they
hit or watch to see that they acknowledge you before continuing. If you hear someone shout “fore” always protect yourself.
It’s unsafe to presume this warning isn’t directed at you. Lastly, always follow the walking/jogging trail. There are portions of
the trail that meander off of the golf course path to keep you away from the action. Walkers and golfers alike, must do their
part everyone can enjoy the beautiful course and walking path.
E-mail Communication
Reduce waste, conserve energy and save materials by receiving news from Quail Run through
email only. Examples include Quail Tracks, Homeowners’ Highlights and general announcements about club activities and events. You must request paperless communications. Otherwise, you will continue to receive online information as well as copies through the mail. Stay
on top of everything at Quail Run and reduce the amount of paper in your mailbox. If you would
like to go paperless, send an e-mail to Caroline at celkins@qrsf.com.
