The Day of the Newcomer on the GGI
premises in Cloppenburg has become
a real event. Brought into being two
years ago as an opener to the All-European Championships in Oldenburg,
this event received great feedback.
This year the 2nd Day of the Newcomer took place on May 29th, 2008.
Almost 1,000 interested breeders from
Germany and foreign visitors from
more than 15 countries came and took
the opportunity to get informed by the
breeding organizations about their
current actions in breeding.

group presented 4 exemplarily prepared animals.
All newcomers, except Zar, lined up
without official figures. The recent
daughter information apparently is
quite positive and shows that for the

upcoming season new, promising bulls
will be available. The progeny group
were well-balanced and showed high
quality. The visitors were able to get a
good impression of the sire qualities
of each bull. Short portraits of each

more information and / or lively discussions with the representatives of the

production halls of “Urban”.
Also the open-air museum in Cloppenburg was visited by a lot of guests.

old church, a school and the “Dorfkrug” top off the rural character. All
guests were informed about old trades
and techniques from past times. 

Wüsting. In a very modern barn there

The bull bred in the Netherlands out of the EX 94 Charity traces back to
the legendary show cow Brookview Tony Charity EX-97 dominating the
shows in North America at the end of the 80’s.
The daughter group mainly convinced with a correct body combined
with very good feet & legs. The averagely high attached udders were wide and well-textured and showed a good teat placement.

Cheerio is out of the cow family of the popular Bellwood-daughter Savage-Leigh Bellwood Linda EX-92, having been nominated for the ‘All
American’ title back in 1999. The framy Cheerio daughters presented
themselves dairy and strong. They showed a lot of potential for development being juvenile and late-maturing. Also when it comes to udder and
feet & legs quality the daughters were able to convince. The rumps are
correctly sloped. The very well-attached udders with distinctive ligaments
bear the production very well.

Forest stands for a reliable and solid conformation as well as average
milk yields with good components.
The Forest-daughters are average for frame and show a good forehand
strength, a lot of rib and have wide, well-sloped rumps. They excited with
their correctly sickled and set feet & legs with solid bones and high hocks.
All four cows had averagely high, very tight and well-textured udders
with an explicit ligament and a good fore udder length with partly rather short teats.

The Rubens Red son Ruacana is out of a family showing EX and VG classified cows in a row for 8 generations. The 4 heifers were average for
frame and appeared harmonically and stylish with an above-average rib
depth. The feet & legs are set correctly and convince with dry bones and
high hocks. Highlights are the outstanding udders: They are attached
very firmly, with long fore udders as well as high and wide rear udders.
The ligament is quite distinctive and the teat placement optimal.

The very uniform and dairy cows convinced with a lot of substance and
depth, wide and correctly sloped rumps as well as a good topline. The
rear legs showed an optimal sickle, good hoofs and footangle.
Highlights of the progeny group were the highly-attached, well-textured
and tight udders with a good fore udder length, good teat placement as
well as an above-average teat length.

Walena out of Amaretto averagely gave 12,000 kg milk with 3.4 % protein in 6 lactations. Next to the good production Zar is a specialist for
udder health.
Zar daughters are straight and solid cows with very good udders. They
show a good balance between depth, strength and stature. The well-set
rear legs can convince with good hoofs. Despite the enormous milk yield
the udders are firmly and well-attached.
