Testimonials
The Vision
The Stand Up fellowship seeks to inspire and train
the next generation of social impact leaders from
within the Jewish community.
We at Stand Up believe in empowering people.
We believe that leadership is about pursuing
passion and purpose and crafting a personal
journey of authentic leadership. From this
platform leaders can stand up, skill up and change
the world.
There are many leadership programs focused
solely on skill development, entrepeneurship and
professionalism. But at Stand Up, we believe
that at the core of every leader lies a deeper
exploration of self that ultimately fuels leaders to
create positive social change.
Experiences
Step outside of your comfort zone and dive
into immersive encounters and creative
workshops in order to inspire your personal
leadership journey.
Allies
what will you
get out of it?
Join a diverse group of ‘allies’: facilitators,
mentors and fellows who will help you pursue
your personal vision.
Inspirers
Engage with established social entrepreneurs
and change makers who are the Tikkun Olam
trail blazers.
Toolbox
Learn new innovative tools that will take your
leadership to the next level. Skills that you can
apply in your personal and professional life.
Jewish Identity
Explore social impact with a proud and
activated Jewish identity, hinged upon Jewish
values.
The Fellowship will run for 7 months, from March to
September 2016, and will include a combination of
workshops, encounters, gatherings and escapes.
Escapes
structure
We believe immersion retreats are the most
effective way to build community and to have
deep, meaningful conversations. That’s why the
fellowship begins and ends with a 3-day retreat
in the Mornington Peninsula. This gives fellows
an opportunity to escape from the activity of
daily life in order to reflect, co-create, build
community and foster creativity and innovation.
Encounters & Workshops
There will be one encounter or workshop run
on a Sunday each month for the duration of
the Fellowship. Encounters take fellows out
on excursions to delve deeper into social
issues and engage with inspirers in different
locations. Workshops will be focused on
learning new skills and exploring different
leadership themes.
Gatherings
Gatherings will take place one evening a
month. This is time for the Fellowship group to
check-in, share ideas, process our journey and
to have some fun.

they can meet with periodically throughout
the duration of the Fellowship to learn, guide
and shape their personal and/or professional
lives.
Workshops & Conferences
extend yourself
Want to be inspired by some of the most
incredible thought leaders, educators and
presenters in Melbourne? The Fellowship will
offer complimentary or heavily discounted
entry to a range of conferences & workshops
in Melbourne (e.g. School of Life, Progress,
TedX).
Seed Funding
The Fellowship is enhanced by some optional extras.
Have an innovative impact idea that you want
to get off the ground? We can help connect
Fellows with seed funding they may need to
create impact.
Fellowship Alumni
23 outstanding young leaders have participated
in this program previously. They look forward
to meeting you and joining several workshops.
Attendance
fees & policies
The Fellowship is both an individual and a group
journey. We have designed a spiral curriculum where
each workshop, encounter and gathering builds on the
next. Therefore, we see the Fellowship as a journey
taking each individual from A to Z. In addition, the
group experience lies at the core of the Fellowship. A
cohort that learns, grows, inspires and challenges one
another can be incredibly transformative. Accordingly,
both of the above can only be achieved with high levels
of attendance.
We ask that Fellows do not miss:
• Either of the two weekend immersion escapes
• More than two gatherings/workshops/encounters
(in total not each)
Fees
Applications
The Fellowship fee is $2500.
The fee includes all workshops, encounters, gatherings
and escapes, as well as any meals scheduled during
Fellowship time.
We recommend contacting your employer to assist (in
part or full) in funding your Fellowship participation
as a professional development opportunity. If your
organisation requires more information about the
program, please have them contact us.
Stand Up believes in accessible experiences and
education for all. We offer scholarships and/or payment
plans for those who are unable to meet the required
fee. Please contact us for a confidential discussion.

About Stand Up
Stand Up is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the
pursuit of social justice for disadvantaged communities
in Australia. It aims to educate and inspire the Jewish
community to take action towards a better world.
Jewish values urge us to question injustice, to act, and
to take collective responsibility. Stand Up sparks and
sustains social change by channelling the passion and
potential of Jewish change-makers into action for a
more just world.
Stand Up’s educational vision is to nurture a Jewish
community to become more closely connected to the
social fibres of humanity, and engage in Jewish principles
that compel a life of social justice and giving. It is an aim
for an interdependent identity, in which Jewishness and
social conscience inform and strengthen one another.
