Thank you Wells Fargo and United Way Day of Caring! Thank you for making our facility more welcoming for families and staff members. Jonathan Rockey joining in the fun. A warm and fuzzy thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Palmer, the numerous kids from Key Club (Colony and Palmer High) and the Kiwanis K-Kids for the 28 beautiful blankets they made and donated to The Children’s Place during their “Fleece Fandango” and for making a difference. Beautiful donated blanket A hearty thank you to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for providing The Children’s Place the opportunity and space for our “Child Abuse Prevention display”. With their help and participation this has become an annual event during the month of April. Highlighting Two of Our Young Volunteers Volunteering has no age limit. Julie Irvine and Anahelene Taylor started a project for The Children’s Place in August of 2015. Since then, they have visited one local church every month in order to help spread the word about child abuse in Alaska and how TCP helps prevent and treat it. Ana and Julie talk to the congregations of the churches they visit at the beginning of the month about their mission. Then they set up a spot for donations to be dropped off throughout the month, if people so choose. Mainly though, they wished to speak to as many people as possible about the epidemic of child abuse in Alaska. Both young ladies are very excited about service and the work they are doing with TCP. They also agree the feeling of bringing a car-load of donations to TCP is as of yet unmatched. They are grateful to be helping the kids in their community through this project. Pictured above left to right: Dr. Cathy Baldwin-Johnson, Julie Irvine, Anahelene Taylor and Erin Rockey Join us in our admiration and a special thank you for both these young women!
