To thank the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division for all they have done in valiant service to our country, AmeriCU sponsored the 4th Annual Salute to the www.americu.org | 800.388.2000 Troops Concert held at Fort Drum’s Mountainfest. The free concert featured MCA Nashville recording artist Kip Moore. More than 10,000 soldiers and families attended and enjoyed a free, family-friendly event which included military equipment displays, children’s games, a custom car, motorcycle and audio show, concessions, photo booths and even an electric bouncy boxing ring! Board of Election Update Credit Unions are democracies in action, governed by their members through an elected, volunteer Board of Directors. Each year, members (age 16 or older) may vote for candidates to our Board of Directors, run for election, or serve as a volunteer on a number of committees. Volunteers use their expertise to help set policy and advance member service. If you would like to receive a Board Candidate Information Packet containing detailed information about the responsibilities, qualifications, and time commitments required, please call 315.356.3204. The 2015-2016 Nominating Committee Chairman is Darlene Burns and the committee members are Tom Harding and George C. Bauer. Schedule for 2016 Election of Officials by Mail Ballot Monday, November 9, 2015: Post list of nominees in offices. Monday, August 3, 2015: Deadline for receipt of nominations by the Nominating Committee. Monday, January 4, 2016: Ballots mailed with quarterly statements to members who joined prior to January 2016. Tuesday, September 1, 2015: Nominating Committee reports names of nominees to the Recording Officer of the Board. Thursday, October 1, 2015: Publish fall issue of the quarterly newsletter announcing date of Annual Meeting, listing names of nominees selected by the Nominating Committee and calling for nominations by petition to the Recording Officer of the Board. Monday, November 2, 2015: Deadline for receipt of nominations by petition. Tuesday, March 1, 2016: Deadline for receipt of ballots by Tellers of Election. Monday, March 7, 2016: Annual meeting and announcement of results of election by mail ballot. Friday, March 18, 2016: Deadline for election of table officers of Board and Supervisory Committee. Along with being recognized as a statewide winner, Devin was also chosen as a recipient of a $500 scholarship from the NYCUA, Utica-Rome Chapter. Devin Kilpatrick is a senior at RFA High School, where he will be honored as valedictorian. He maintained an impressive 101.91 average, while taking advanced placement and honors classes. In fact, Devin will have enough college credits for an Associate’s Degree when he completes high school! After graduation, Devin will be continuing his education at Princeton University where he will study geosciences.
