The bronze museum is a vibrant site where today’s artists can display their work. The museum takes a unique approach to displaying its collections, as visitors don gloves and are allowed to handle the pieces all they like. It’s a tactile introduction to the world of bronze sculpture. A demonstration of bronze casting is also offered, weather permitting. Works from the museum’s own collection, produced at the museum or in local foundries, are displayed permanently. Other works, on consignment, can also be admired in temporary exhibitions. In the lobby, visitors see an evocation of the past and present of bronze sculpture, through a tribute to the best-known local sculptors: pieces by Alfred Laliberté, graciously loaned by the Musée du Québec, are some of the museum’s prized exhibits.
