Two weeks duration
The Shakespeare’s Globe Summer School
offers students a unique opportunity to
spend two weeks at the Globe working
with leading actors, directors and scholars,
watching productions and presenting scenes
on the Globe stage.
This is the perfect course for students
gearing up for drama school or looking to
enhance and enrich their understanding
of Shakespeare.
During the two weeks, participants will
develop acting and audition skills working
with experienced directors on selected
scenes from Shakespeare plays, study
with scholars and take masterclasses
with leading theatre practitioners.

Fees include
All tuition, tickets to Globe productions and
events and a final lunch reception.
Fees do not include meals and refreshments,
travel or accommodation.
Places are limited
The course includes tickets for three
productions at the Globe and a presentation
of work on the stages of the Globe Theatre
and the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.
You are eligible to apply if you:

The Shakespeare’s Globe Young Actors
Summer School is a one week intensive
course designed for students who are
interested in full-time drama training or in
studying Drama at university. Students will
work with leading actors, voice experts and
movement coaches and will present work
on both the Globe stage and in the newly
constructed Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.
The Studying Shakespeare Summer
School is a one week immersive course
particularly suited to students who are going
on to study English Literature at university.
Students will work with leading academics,
actors and dramaturges and will explore the
social, political and cultural context in which
Shakespeare and his contemporaries were
writing.
This course will develop the skills students
need when approaching their classical
texts for drama school auditions and
participants will take part in master classes
with internationally renowned theatre
practitioners and directors.
This is the perfect course for students who
are interested in deepening and enriching
their understanding of Shakespeare and the
unique spaces for which he wrote and would
be the ideal first step for those looking to
extend their interest and understanding of
Elizabethan and Jacobean drama.
This is an ideal opportunity for students to
gain unique access to the spaces for which
Shakespeare and his contemporaries were
writing and to work with international
experts on early modern performance
techniques and original practices.
Shakespeare’s Globe is a world renowned
centre for the academic study of Shakespeare
in performance. Students will have the
opportunity to see productions, participate
in stimulating lectures and seminars and
discuss Shakespeare’s influence on English
Literature as a master of comedy, tragedy
and history.
