I feel as though I belong here and UTSA is a home away from home. - RICCO ACEVES Intern at NASA Ricco Aceves, a mechancial engineering major, is one of 150 students from 70 universities who’ve been accepted into the prestigious NASA Pathways Intern Employment Program. The internship gives undergraduates the opportunity to explore federal careers while still in school with the possibility of being hired upon graduation. I would have been one of the crowd at another university but I've been given the chance to Start a Women's Lacrosse Team Multidisciplinary studies major Shanice Mzava never played on a lacrosse team before she set foot on UTSA’s campus, but she’ll be leaving as the founding member of the firstever UTSA women’s lacrosse team. After helping the men’s lacrosse team for several years, Shanice saw the lack of a women’s team and took her leadership skills to the next level, giving the rest of the university a new tradition. As a multidisciplinary studies major, she’s earning a degree that focuses on not one, or even two disciplines. The experience provided Alyssa with valuable experience in taking an idea from inception to completion and was the catalyst for her decision to further her education in the bioengineering field.
