More than 4,000 high school, collegiate and professional athletes participated in the 2007 meet held at Brooks CityBase in San Antonio. In 2006, the event was renamed to honor UTSA’s President, Dr. Ricardo Romo, a former cross country and track and field star at Fox Tech High School and the University of Texas who was the first Texan to run a sub four-minute mile UTSA also hosts the UIL Region IV Cross Country Championships each November at Brooks CityBase. More than 3,000 high school runners compete for the right to advance to the state meet in Classes A-5A. www.goUTSA.com 3 UTSA TRACK & FIELD COMPLEX With a newly refurbished track surface, UTSA boasts one of the premier practice facilities in the Southland Conference.
