Bands, street entertainers, a fruit wine bar, a kids’ zone with a
skating rink, refreshments and arts and crafts vendors get together
to welcome Central Florida’s blueberry season. If you don’t mind

Wolfy’s Restaurant has been a Leesburg landmark and local
favorite since it opened in 1983. Wolfy’s has lots of regular
customers because of their friendly staff, excellent service, and
good, All-American diner style comfort food. The menu is big and
offers enough options that you are sure to find just what you’re
hungry for. Their specialty is rotisserie chicken and they offer a
different dinner special every night of the week; stuff like meatloaf
with real mashed potatoes, pot roast, even prime rib. They offer a
variety of fresh baked pies for dessert too.They open for breakfast
at 6 am but you can order breakfast anytime (try the crunchy
French toast or an omelet).

Dear Alliance Coach Family,
Hope all is well with everyone. Spring is here and the weather is just beautiful. Things are busy
here at Alliance in Wildwood and Lake Park. We just returned from a show in Perry, Georgia,
where over 2000 coaches were in attendance. Some RVs heading home from there and
others came back to Florida to enjoy the sunshine and avoid the snow that is hitting the
country this late.
We are very excited about the new Monaco and Holiday Rambler product that is arriving
here. The quality is the best we have seen in years. We have had the pleasure of meeting
Jim Jacobs the REV President and really believe he understands the point of view of the
dealers and customers. If anyone can turn this company back to what it once was, it will be
him.
Our store in Lake Park is now excited to announce we carry the full line of Thor gas and
diesel coaches, along with Cherokee and Dutchman travel trailers. We have a very
experienced sales team there to show you around our very huge inventory.
In Wildwood our expansion plans are moving along. We have just completed our phase 1
report on the land that we will be improving. Hopefully in the next month or two we will have
some more updated news.
When visiting Wildwood don’t forget to check out Brownwood across the street. When I first
arrived here to service my coach six and a half years ago there was nothing but cows. Now
we have restaurants, movie theatres, supermarkets, and plenty of strip shopping centers.
There is something for everyone here now.
So if your heading home be safe, and if you are living in the area or still visiting here, will see
you soon.

TECH TIP: RV CHARGING SYSTEMS

All RVs have some type of battery charging systems in them. Fifth wheels and travel trailers typically
use a Converter. This is what the dictionary says: noun con·vert·er \kən-ˈvər-tər\ : a piece of
equipment that changes something (such as radio signals, radio frequencies, or data) from one form
to another.
Well in an RV, a converter “converts” 110VAC to 12VDC, which it uses to power lighting circuits,
steps and slides. It also is responsible for charging your batteries. Converters are mostly electronic
and have very sophisticated battery-charging systems.
Larger 5th wheels and motorhomes use an Inverter. This is what the dictionary says: noun in·vert·er
\in-ˈvər-tər\:one that inverts: a device for converting direct current into alternating current. In these
larger units, what is commonly referred to as an inverter is actually an inverter/charger and it inverts
12VDC TO 110VAC and charges your batteries.
Looks are deceiving: many converters and inverters look very similar. I remember mentoring an
RVIA/RVDA practical test and 50% percent of the newly trained technicians did not identify the
converters and inverters correctly. So don’t feel bad if you can’t tell the difference.
Currently most coaches charge battery banks in the following ways:
1.
When the engine is running the chassis batteries are brought up to proper charge then an
isolator/relay delay (electronic device) switches the alternator charge to the coach batteries, always
keeping in mind the chassis batteries which are a priority.
2. When the coach is plugged in, most coaches from about 2007 forward charge the house and chassis
batteries. Prior to 2007 most coaches did not charge the chassis battery. If your coach does not, it is
recommended to shut off your chassis battery disconnect if staying in the same place for an extended
period of time.
3. With your generator running the coach charges the same as if you were plugged in.
Maintain, maintain, maintain! To properly maintain your coach batteries (today most chassis
batteries are sealed), you must keep the fluid level topped off. Most owners’ manuals recommend
checking your battery fluid level once a month. I personally disagree with that. I recommend that if
you have an inverter, you check your batteries once every two weeks. If you have wet cell batteries,
the easiest way to maintain them is with automatic fill systems. These systems are typically less
than $100.00 and all you do to maintain the water level is pump the pump…what could be easier.
Make sure all the battery cables are clean and tight. If you see corrosion building up on the
terminals, I am an old school guy and get out the baking soda. Believe it or not, this is just the
beginning of the story on batteries in your motorhome; they are the heart of the coach. To be

WILDWOOD NEWS
The 2016 Perry FMCA Reunion was a great
time for everyone. The Frustrated Maestros
came and played at our display. We are
honored that they chose to spend time with us
and everyone really enjoyed listening to them.

On March 20 we had an Easter Egg Hunt & Picnic that included a visit from the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt, egg race, and
bounce house. We had a good turnout and it was fun for everyone. As you can see from the pictures, the Easter Bunny
was a big hit.

LAKE PARK NEWS
While our company as a whole is constantly
expanding, our Service Department here in Lake
Park has had quite the jump in growth recently. Last
year Cody Gleason began as a detail technician/lot
porter and has quickly moved up and learned the
ropes of RV service and has recently been promoted
to Technician. Our Paint and Body Department has
also grown by 2. Andy Green has moved up to an
assistant paint and body technician, and Robin Merritt
recently started as a Paint and Body tech, making
Brawn Williams our Paint and Body Manager. Our
most recent employee, Gabe Luke, is quickly learning
the ins and outs of the shop as a lot porter and
General Shop Maintenance Technician. All are very
reliable employees and have worked hard for the
positions they hold. They all work together and have
a very bright future here with us at Alliance Coach of
GA.

Dean Harvey tells us, “I was born in Michigan where my family had RV/mobile home
dealerships in the ‘60s and ‘70s. In the mid ‘70s the Harvey’s moved to Florida and
opened several dealerships and then a small RV factory where my brothers and I worked
after school and on weekends. In my 6 years with Alliance I have been a Service Writer
and Customer Service Manager before moving to sales. My experience has provided me
with the knowledge to recognize quality construction in all forms of RVs.” Dean is a family

VETERAN’S INFO: TEAM RUBICON
Team Rubicon is a non-profit disaster response organization that unites the skills and experiences
of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy disaster response teams, free of charge,
to communities affected by disasters across the country. Team Rubicon currently maintains a roster
of 30,000+ volunteers able to deploy throughout the United States.
Through continued service, Team Rubicon seeks to provide veterans with three things they lose
after leaving the military: a purpose, gained by disaster relief; community, built by serving with
others; and self-worth, from recognizing the impact one individual can make. Coupled with
leadership development and other opportunities, Team Rubicon looks to help veterans transition
from military to civilian life.
Their story: On January 12, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake shook Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.
Hundreds of thousands were killed; nearly one million Haitians were rendered homeless in a matter
of moments. Essential services, medical care, government agencies, clean water, were all
disrupted. Images of the aftermath, of the tent cities, of the overflowing medical clinics, of the food
lines, were broadcast across the world.
Two Marines, Jake Wood and William McNulty, knew they could help. Together with six other
veterans and first responders, they gathered funds and medical supplies from friends and family and
flew into Dominican Republic. They rented a truck, loaded their gear, and headed west to Haiti.
When they crossed the Artibonite, the river border between Haiti and the Dominic Republic, they
crossed their Rubicon; the initial group of eight were irrevocably committed to their task of providing
aid to Haiti. And they did. They treated thousands of patients, traveling to camps deemed “too
dangerous” by other aid organizations. They ventured outside the traditional scale of disaster
response, focusing on those who would be overlooked untreated.
Team Rubicon is making a huge difference where it is needed most for both the disaster victims and

friends. And this beautiful four-month-old Rottweiler had staff members coming from all
over for a chance to enjoy some puppy love. What a cutie!

Ingredients

3 large eggs
2 tablespoons maple syrup (or more, to taste)

¼ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup brown sugar, packed
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions
Lightly coat a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick
spray. Place a layer of bread cubes evenly into
the baking dish. Top with blueberries in an even
layer, repeating 2 more times and ending with a
layer of bread.
In a large glass measuring cup or another bowl,
whisk together milk, eggs, maple, syrup, lemon
zest, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour
mixture over break cubes. Cover and place in
the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
To make the crumb topping, combine flour,
sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Add cold
butter and toss to coat, using your fingers to
work the butter into the dry ingredients until it
resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle the crumb
topping evenly over the bread cubes.
Place into oven and bake for 35-45 minutes, or
until golden brown.
Serve immediately, sprinkled with confectioners’
sugar if desired.
