CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Four roads
and two bridges in Nueva Ecija were rendered
impassable by rampaging floodwaters dumped
by Typhoon Nona in the
province as of yesterday, the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management
Council
(RDRRMC) said in its
latest report.
The RDRRMC said
the following are not
passable to all types of
vehicles due to flooding: Maligaya-Calabasa Road in Gabaldon,

Bird Club of the Philippines
on Thursday pushed for more
protection of wetlands and
wildlife which they considered
as vital for human survival.
“Wetlands are among the
world’s most productive environments. The protection of
the environment also provides
livelihood like in the preservation of mangroves that causes the abundance of marine
products,” the senator said.
She urged the preservation of wildlife for future generations. “We do not inherit the
earth from our ancestors. We
borrow it from our children,”
she said.
Villar said the country
needs more champions of the
environment like the WBCP
who will protect watersheds as
habitat of birds.
Villar was keynote speaker
in the 10th Philippine Bird Festival held here from December
9 – 11. Delegates from Asian
countries attended the threeday festival.

Enrique Garcia III and Dinalupihan town Mayor Gila Garcia
welcomed the visitors.
The senator expressed the
hope that the Balanga City
Wetland and Nature Park be
included in the List of Wetlands of International Importance, also known as Ramsar
list. The Department of Tourism has included Balanga City
as among the birdwatching
sites in the country.
Gina Mapua, WBCP president, said climate change affects not only the migratory
and resident birds but all of us.
“We must protect our forests
and the seashores,” she said.
She said that birds should
be on trees and not in cages.
“They should be free to feed
for themselves,” Mapua said,
adding that there are 635 recorded species of birds and
more to be counted.
“Some 235 of this number are endemic in the country, meaning they can only be
found in the Philippines,” the
WBCP official said.
Mapua considered Balanga City as the most successful
in treating the migratory birds.
“The local government unit
and the community joined forces. Tortugas was preserved
as wetland park where tourist
arrivals rose by 425 percent.
There is money in migratory
birds as long as the right thing
is done,” she said.
Tortugas, a seaside village
in Balanga City is the site of
the nature and wetland park.
Along with the villages of Sibacan and Puerto Rivas Ibaba
and Itaas, it has been designated as bird watching site.

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Almost 11,000 Bantay
Bayan from the 505 barangays of Pampanga had been
commended for their efforts
in helping the local police in
curbing criminalities in the
province.
This was gleaned during
the Year End Assessment of
Bantay-Bayan held separately
at the Lubao Gymnasium and
at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, this city.
Gov Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda
said the barangay tanods are
the “unsung heroes” of the
province who do their duties
and risk their lives without expecting enough remuneration
from the government or sometimes receiving nothing at all.
Hence, the governor reiterated his appeal to bantay
bayan to continue their efforts in helping their respective
communities.
“ I am renewing my call for
you to intensify your efforts
in helping and supporting the
province in maintaining peace
and order,” the governor told
the bantay-bayan.
Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Recomono Jr.
police provincial director said
the bantay bayan who serve
as force multipliers were instrumental in maintaining
peace and order.
The Pampanga top cop
said the arrest of thousands
of drug personalities was possible due to the alertness and
information coming from the
bantay bayan.
“There are several instances that the bantay bayan are
helping us in apprehending
suspects of criminal offence,”
Recomono said.
It was learned that 2,000
drug personalities in Pampanga were arrested this year
alone through anti-illegal drug
operations with the support of
the bantay bayan and barangay officials.
“This is the result of the intensified anti-illegal drug campaign after conducting more
than 600 operations for this
year with the help of the force
multipliers,” the police director
said.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Director Gladys Rosales
said that prices of shabu in the
province increased.
“From P1, 200, the price
per gram of shabu increases
to P4, 200. Meaning, many
suspects were already apprehended which resulted to the
low supply of shabu here in
Pampanga,” Rosales said.

BALANGA CITY - The proverbial last two minutes on the
deadline Thursday for the filing of substitute candidates in
the May 2016 elections was
full of surprises in Bataan.
Talks went wild that former
chairman Felicito Payumo of
the Bases Conversion Development Authority will substitute for Engr. Jason Garcia who filed last October his
Certificate of Candidacy for
congressman of Bataan’s first
district.
Many held their breath as
Payumo arrived at the provincial office of the Commission
on Elections here a few minutes before 5 p.m. while Engr.
Garcia was filing his withdrawal of candidacy.
Observers were expecting that Hermosa town Mayor Danilo Malana who filed
his COC for congressman last
October will also withdraw to
give way to Payumo, a close
ally. But they were wrong.
The former BCDA chair
and three-term Bataan congressman did not file his
COC but instead announced
full support to the candidacy
as congressman in the first
district of Malana. “We are
supporting Dan Malana for a
good cause,” Payumo said,
raising the hands of the candidate.
Malana thanked Payumo
whom he considered as a
good person for the position.
This leaves Malana and
Geraldine Roman, transgender daughter of outgoing Rep.
Herminia Roman, vying for
the congressional post in the
first district.
In Pilar, Bataan, also in the
last minutes, Lady Caguimbal
withdrew her candidacy as
vice-mayor and gave way to
husband Marino Caguimbal.
Cecilia Garcia filed her
CoC as substitute to her father, Emmanuel Garcia who
withdrew his candidacy as Pilar town councilor.
Earlier, former Partylist Rep. Bethe Santos of the
Veterans Freedom Party substituted for her son Eduardo Santos who filed his CoC
for mayor of Pilar last October. The son this time filed his
CoC for vice-mayor.
Bethe will face re-electionist Mayor Alice Pizarro.
In Dinalupihan town, former provincial Board Member
Lucy Payumo withdrew her
candidacy for mayor. She was
replaced by former town administrator Fernando Manalili. He will be pitied against incumbent Mayor Gila Garcia.
Jopet Inton replaced former Councilor Lou Narciso
for mayor of Hermosa, Bataan. Inton will be fighting former provincial Board Member
Efren Cruz for the mayorship.

sexual assault.
Time and efficiency clearly factoring in the expeditious

It came then as a matter of course that in September 2013, the Supreme Court,
through the Society for Judicial Excellence, conferred on
Judge Paras-Quiambao
the Chief Justice Jose
Abad Santos Award in the Judicial Excellence Awards of
that year.
The said awards were given to members of the judiciary
exemplifying “proven integrity,
dedication and commitment to
public service and the rule of
law.”
Two years after – it should
have come sooner – it was
the turn of her home province to bestow honor on Judge
Paras-Quiambao as Most
Outstanding
Kapampangan
Awardee in the field of Judicial
Service for 2015.
The elements of excellence – from the Supreme
Court, and service – from the
Province of Pampanga, finding complete expression in
Judge Paras-Quiambao.

A MILESTONE. No less than
the
Inter-Agency
Council
Against Trafficking hailed the
first ever conviction of cybersex operators in Central Luzon.
“A triumph of justice, a precedent even,” luded the National Bureau of Investigation who
filed the case, “given that most
cybersex crime complaints do
not prosper in court.”
It was in October last year,
in no less than Angeles City –
trying its darndest best to shed
its Sin City image – that cybersex operators Esmeraldo
Tejero Amurao and Marlyn Dizon Valencia were found guilty
beyond reasonable doubt for
qualified trafficking and trafficking in person and meted
life imprisonment and ordered
to pay their victims P25,000 to
P2 million.
Handing down the verdict,
after nine months of marathon
hearings, was Regional Trial Court Judge Angelica Paras-Quiambao.
Speed and efficiency in
handling cases has always
been the hallmark of Judge
Paras-Quiambao from her
time at the Municipal Trial
Court in Clarkfield, Pampanga
in 1993, to the RTC where she
was promoted in 2001.
“She sees that rendering
decisions on time is vital in the
effective delivery of justice,”
said retired RTC Judge Aida
Evaile Layug of Judge Paras-Quiambao. “Her well-written and soundly researched
decisions are always affirmed
by the Higher Court.”
A solid evidence there of
her degree in Mass Communications, Major in Communications Research from the University of the Philippines, and
her being a Dean’s Lister at
the Ateneo de Manila University where she finished law in
1986.
It was virtually pro bono publico, veritably gratis et amore,
that set the legal course of
Judge Paras-Quiambao, starting at the then-Citizen’s Legal
Assistance Office (now Public
Attorney’s Office) of the Department of Justice in 1988.
There, she endeared herself to indigent litigants with
her “care and compassion for
us, as though we were kin and
not simply clients.” Fittingly,
she was hailed as a “Top Performer” of CLAO.
The awards and recognitions have not stopped
since, through her stint at the
MTC-Clarkfield to the RTC,
thus: Best Written Decision
Award from the Philippine
Women Judges Association,
Acknowledgment of Rendition
of Gender Sensitive Decision
by the Gender Justice Awards,
Public Service Award from the
Society of Broadcast Journalists, Inc. and Gintong Sikap
Award from the Angeles City
Lawyers League, to name but
some.
Through all these honors
and achievements, she has
maintained, in the courtroom,
“a composure of patience, attentiveness, courtesy and impartiality.”
And, to her peers and subordinates, remained “humble,
conscientious, morally upright.”

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -The iconic San Fernando lantern, locally known as Parul
Sampernandu, which earned
for this city the moniker “Christmas Capital of the Philippines”
is now in a book all its own.
On Wednesday, Parul was
launched at the Robinsons
Starmills here as a leading
even to the epic Giant Lantern
Festival (GLF) on Saturday at
the same site.
From a “simple souvenir
program of the GLF that more
often than not
Is just discarded and left
behind after the event,” said
Engr. Fer Caylao, chair of the
GLF souvenir program committee, “we have decided to
make a lasting keepsake by
which to remember the event.”
Hence, the coffee table
book preserving more than the
names of the entries to the festival, to include the history and
evolution of the iconic lanterns,
the mechanics of construction
and operations, even traditions
attached to the most Filipino of
the Christmas symbols.
Its very cover, done by
Kapampangan artist Alvaro
Jimenez, harks back to the traditional art form Letras Y Figuras, the letters of Parul made
out of figures in traditional Filipino Christmas scenes against
a backdrop of an old church
plaza.
The visual feast Parul offers is complemented by articles from local journalists
Tonette Orejas of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Joey Pavia of Business Mirror and
Bong Lacson of Punto! Book
editor is Jovi de Leon of Sun
Star-Pampanga.
With its own ISBN number,
a first in the history of the festival, the book is “fit to be placed
inside libraries in the country
and the world over.”
For his part, GLF 2015 Execom Chair Engr. Ernesto Cunanan said “the hardbound
edition is a sure keepsake and
would serve to further promote
interest and attention on the
festival and the San Fernando
lantern industry.”

‘Parul Sampernandu’ sparkles in Xiamen
The “Parul Sampernandu” exhibit at SM Xiamen was successfully
launched last November 27. The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen,
in cooperation with SM Xiamen, organized the exhibit which showcases lanterns made of capiz seashells
handcrafted in the City of San Fernando (CSFP), Pampanga. The CSFP,
along with the Giant Lantern Festival
Foundation, are the Consulate General’s partners in promoting Philippine

Christmas traditions in Xiamen. The
last collaboration resulted in the installation of the Giant Lantern in Xiamen’s Annual Lantern Festival last
February-March 2014.

Tan, together with Philippine Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores,
pulled the ceremonial curtain to signal
the lighting of the lanterns installed at
the Corcierge of SM 1 which was witnessed by the mall’s peak hour crowd
of around 500 shoppers and guests.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Allan Brosas, SM China
Head and SM officials and staff, Engineer Roman T. Go, Chairman of the
Manila-Xiamen International School
(MXIS) and faculty members, Mr. Edward Tenorio, President of Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX), FAX officers and members, Mr. Aaron Tan,
owner of Xia Men Cheng Xing Industry and Trading Co., Ltd, the Consul-
ate General’s officers and staff, and
members of the Filipino community.
The lantern display will run for the
duration of the Christmas holidays
and Chinese New Year until 19 February 2016. The display is expected to
be viewed by at least 60,000 people
daily during the holiday periods. SM

These lanterns are made
and funded by the community, aside from P3 million pesos
funding subsidy coming from
the city government. Lantern
makers, electricians and ordinary folk volunteer time and
effort to make the lanterns
beautiful and up to competition
standards.
Mayor Edwin Santiago said
that they are also focusing
on helping the industry penetrate the international market
through more quality made
lanterns.
“Heritage is everywhere;
and an understanding of our
past is increasingly critical to
the understanding of our contemporary cultural context
and place in global society.
The impending ASEAN integration encourages us to find
the niche within the globalized
market. What sets us apart
from others that would give us
the much needed impetus to
be different is a model for the
contemporary culture that is
what is embedded in the giant
lantern. The leap on the economy driven by the tourism and
trade that is being roused by
this major event is the ultimate
objective in the merge of heritage and development.”
Aside from China, the
‘Parul Sampernandu’ has
been in Hollywood in 1993, a
year before, at the World Expo
in Spain, the Philippines’ embassies and consulates in
Canada, Malaysia, Poland,
Russia, Thailand and the United States, among others.
The city’s lanterns had also
decorated areas such Austrian landmarks as the Rathausplatz and Ethnology Museum in Vienna, as well as the
Stadtturm in Innsbruck, including the Lord Mayor’s House
in Dublin and the Good Shepherd Cathedral in Singapore.

10 arrested
for guns, drugs

7 drug personalities nabbed
SUBIC, Zambales -- Seven
drug personalities were arrested by elements of the Zambales PNP in simultaneous
anti-drug operations here and
in Castillejos town.
Chief Inspector Leonardo
Madrid, head of Subic PNP,
identified the suspects as William Malali, alyas Dodong, 37;
Prima Sumapil, 44; all residents of Pomera St., Barangay Calapacuan; Jenifer Marquez, 35, resident of Barangay
Banicain, Olongapo City; and
Ernesto Almares, 55, resident
of Purok 3, Barangay Calapandayan. Recovered from them
were six transparent plastic
sachets of shabu.
In Castillejos, a drug buybust, resulted to the arrest of
Edward Tolentino, 46, resident
of Purok 1, Barangay Bangal, Dinalupihan, Bataan; and
Ricky Gelido, 46, resident of
Block 17 Upper Barangay Gordon Heights, Olongapo City.
In another operation, Senior Inspector Pancho Doble,
chief of Castillejos Police Station, arrested Rowell King
alias “Dara” 47, resident of
Purok 5, Del Pilar, Castillejos
selling shabu worth P500 to a
police poseur-buyer.
Recovered from the suspect were another three pieces of transparent plastic sachets and the marked money.
All the suspects were
locked up in jail facing violation of Section 5 and 11 Article
ll of RA 9165.

MARIVELES, Bataan – Police
on Thursday morning arrested
10 suspected illegal drug personalities and confiscated four
firearms during the conduct of
One Time Big Time operation
in Barangay Biaan here.
Senior Supt. Rhodel Sermonia, Bataan police director,
led the joint operation composed of various police teams
in coordination with the Philippines Drug Enforcement
Agency.
Police first conducted buybust operation at 9:30 a.m. in
the barangay that resulted to
the arrest of Omar Anbomin,
45, of Burgos, La Union and
Artemio Carreon, 45, of Rosario, La Union who were caught
in the act of selling shabu
worth P500.
Carreon tried to elude arrest upon sensing the presence of other lawmen and ran
towards a makeshift shanty
that prompted police to give
chase.
Pursuing
operatives
nabbed Carreon inside the
shanty and discovered that
eight others were there sniffing
shabu, Sermonia said.
Police identified the eight
other suspects as Eduardo
Macabio, 36; Mario Macabio,
35; Josefino Palanon, 46; Eric
Dulay, 35; and Rolando Sarazon, 46; all of San Gabriel and
Erwin Espino, 26, of Sto. Tomas; Mark Brian Peralta, 25
of Rosario and Leonardo de
Guzman, 37, of Naguiian; all
in the province of La Union.
Sermonia said the operation resulted in the confiscation of one M-16 rifle with
magazine loaded with 25 live
5.56 ammo, three .45 pistols,
all with magazines with seven
live ammo each and 17 spare
live ammo for .45 pistol.
Also recovered from suspects were seven small heatsealed plastic sachets of crystalline substance believed to
be shabu, four small plastic
sachets of dried marijuana
fruiting tops and several drug
paraphernalia, the provincial
police chief said.
Sermonia said investigations are ongoing in preparation for the filing of appropriate
charges. He lauded the troops
behind the successful operation and encouraged them to
continue in the relentless fight
against illegal drugs.

poverty, fighting natural calamities, or preparing
for them if we cannot fight them; to mitigate
climate change.”

global forums.

NOW ANY society in which most of the people are poor is always in danger of
having its political authority corrupted and dominated by the rich minority.
In the Philippines, the real power lay back of
the shifting factions, in the hands of a few rich
families strong enough to bend Government
to their will. This oligarchy intervened in
government to preserve the political privileges
of its wealth, and to protect its right of property.
This intervention of wealth in politics
unavoidably produced corruption. And when this
practice seeped through the whole of society
itself, the result was moral degeneration. So
the Philippine political culture equated freedom
with self-aggrandizement, and the politics of
participation, so essential in a democracy, with
the pursuit of privilege.
Oligarchic “values” permeated society all
the more easily because the rich controlled
the press and radio-TV. The press particularly
became the weapon of a special class rather
than a public forum. The newspapers would
noisily and endlessly comment on the side
issues of our society, but not on the basic ones:
for example, the question of private property.
The oligarchic propaganda was that
somehow, with the election of “good men” –
good men who please the oligarchs – mass
poverty would come to an end. The search
for “better men in politics” and not institutional
change; a “higher political morality,” and not
the restructuring of society – this was the
oligarch’s ready answer to the question of

MORE OFTEN the politician neither legislates
nor administers so much as he intervenes
and mediates. He achieves a personalized
relationship with his constituents as individual
persons, more anxious about doing things
for each of them rather than for all of them.
A bridge, a school, or a rural development
project, although important, is not enough.
Has he been approachable? Has he managed
to place a son in a Manila office? Where was
he when a fire broke out or a typhoon came?
How personally generous has he been with the
needs of certain influential leaders? If he fails in
these personalist tests, he fails as a politician.
Are the people to blame for this state of
affairs? Hardly, for conditions are such that the
majority depend on the government. But are the
politicians, who are simply responding to
the situation as they see it? I would say
Yes. Within the undeniably practical limits of
political survival, politicians can and should try
out some innovations that will transform the
political culture from being populist, personalist
and individualist to being more nationalist,
institutional and socialist, in the strict meaning
of being more conscious about the needs of
society and the national community…
One reason for the pervasiveness of
corruption is that in being part of the system,
everyone it touches seems to benefit…The
corrupt politician who is at the same time
accessible to his constituents has more
chances of staying in power than an honest
one “who has not done anything.” He probably
takes his legislative or executive work more
seriously, concentrating on collective goals
to the detriment of political “fence mending,”
but he is more often judged by the populist,
personalist and individualist standards of the
political culture.
A true politician should be able to lead his
constituency in a precarious present toward
an uncertain future, but he dare not initiate or
innovate unless he can be sure it will not cost
his position.
It is easy to condemn him for lack of moral
courage, but what good is a businessman
without a business, a politician without policy?
“I must see where my people are going so
that I may lead them,” an Athenian politician
was supposed to have said. There are certain
conditions, however, in which this attitude
cannot be a useful principle of democratic

to patronage politics – reflecting the constancy
and consistency in the praxis of Philippine

Graciano Lopez Jaena
is born in Jaro, Iloilo
On December 18, 1856,
Graciano Lopez Jaena, one of
the pillars of the Reform Movement during the Spanish occupation, was born in Jaro, Iloilo.
At a young age, his religious mother sent him to a
seminary in Jaro, feeling that
priesthood was the noble profession for her son. However,
his study of religion and the atmosphere in the seminary did
not prevent him from unleashing his energies against the
oppressors of his country and
people.
His frequent visits to the
poor and ordinary people in
the remote areas made him realize how bad their living conditions were under the Spanish rule.
Lively and intelligent, he
took writing early in life and
produced a tale entitled “Fray
Botod” in 1874. The satirical
novel ridiculed the friars as
abusive, cruel, lazy, greedy
and immoral, who spoke of
saintly verses but could not
see their own wrongdoings.
This infuriated the Spanish
clergy and Lopez Jaena was
forced to leave for Spain to
study medicine (which he did
not finish) at the University of
Valencia to avoid threats to his
life.
In Spain, from huge gatherings (social and political
clubs), he bravely spoke about
the evils of the Spanish rule in
his country; denouncing vigorously the role of the friars in introducing and maintaining obscurantism in the Philippines
and in obstructing progress of
the people.
Historians regard Lopez
Jaena, Marcelo del Pilar and
Dr. Jose Rizal as the triumvirate of Filipino propagandists.
He was one of the founders
and editors of La Solidaridad
in 1888, which served as the
mouthpiece of the Filipinos in
Spain. As editor, Lopez Jaena
did not receive any salary. His
only compensation was free
lodging, meals, clothing and
a little pocket money for trivial
expenses.
He also wrote in many publications in Europe, where his
name became famous as the
“Fighting Filipino Journalist”
abroad.
His obsession to free his
country sapped his physical
strength, until he died of tuberculosis on January 20, 1896 in
Barcelona, Spain. This was followed by the death of Marcelo H. del Pilar on July 4 of the
same year, and of Dr. Rizal by
firing squad on December 30,
thus ending the great triumvirate of Filipino propagandists.

Nuclear war?
The world never had such means of communications that have changed
with speed universal moral perspectives. From the movies to internet videos and
games anyone can play in one hand, levels of morality have shifted in lamentable
evolution.
In many supernatural apparitions of these
days, the message is that mankind is headed
for punishment (books refer to “chastisement”)
and, although still can be mitigated by prayers
and other forms of penitential acts, cannot be
lifted anymore.
As the day of reckoning approaches,
Jesus Christ, the Blessed Mother, and the
other saints have been in a seemingly frenetic
mode appealing to all to prepare, alongside
admonitions on how to.
Last Dec. 4, Jesus Christ reportedly
conveyed the following messages through
Brazilian mystic Pedro Regis: “Children, at
this instant I bless all of you, especially those
who strive to be humble and in their strife they
subdue the human ego, they subdue the human
ego which causes hubris, disgruntlement,
arrogance, and disobedience in men.”
With these words, the Lord tells us how to
spiritually prepare for the future. (Please note
that to avoid redundancy, I have skirted the
word “alleged” or “allegedly,” amid deference
to the Catholic Church’s final decision on
mystical events in our days, including that of
Pedro.)
Jesus also revealed some developments in
our times: “The elites who hold the world power
were created by the antichrist. These elites
represent one single power that has been given
the prerogative to make decisions regarding
the directives issued for humanity, causing
pain to My children, especially because of the
dominance of this elite over the nations which
are used to suit its convenience.”
It’s almost like hearing militants waving red
flags and chanting slogans against those who
advocate one world government, World BankInternational Monetary Fund, although I’m not
saying Jesus was referring to these institutions.
Jesus, through Pedro, also advised
the faithful to receive the sacrament of the
Eucharist, and that our times are in a hurry. He
said: “Beloved children, you must receive Me in
the Eucharist, you must pray and meditate on
everything I announce; do not wait any longer.
Remain attentive to the movements that are
not disclosed before humanity, those that are
minimized in small letters by those who do not
want My People to wake up.”
And then this lament: “At this instant,
so many of your brothers suffer because of
the war, because of religious persecution,
ungratefulness, torture, and famine! And
those who have everything are centered on
themselves without thinking about their fellow
beings.”
This warning from Jesus: “Famine will
come and it will not distinguish between social
classes because of the contamination caused
by man through nuclear energy, fierce scourge
of humanity.”
This nuclear warning confuses me, because
elsewhere, the Blessed Mother was quoted to
have said there would not be any World War 3.
But then, the Blessed Mother might have meant
there would be no such war as expected in a
certain period of time. On the other hand, the
nuclear warning conveyed to Pedro could mean
that the war would be localized or confined to a
portion of the world.
Further on the war, Jesus told Pedro: “This
instant is the one I have announced and about
which My Mother has warned you revealing to
you all that was necessary to avoid what this
generation will have to face. Man has turned
a deaf ear to Our Will and therefore he has
suffered more than he should. As the effects of
the world war intensify, and due to advances
in science—particularly in nuclear weapons—
humanity’s suffering will be greater than it
was in previous wars. Man disobeys without
thinking about the consequences brought on
by this action.”
“Because of man’s indifference towards
Me, he will have to face his own mistakes and
examine himself by Divine Mercy in order to
save souls. Those who are close to Me and to
My Mother must be the most humble, not the
hubristic creatures who judge their brothers.
And man must guard himself against these
hubristic men because when, out of hubris, one
of these moves away from where he serves
Me, he takes his brothers by the hand to cause
fissures in My Works and to take some brothers
with him in order to hide his mistakes,” the Lord
added.
Jesus also told Pedro about the coming of
the antichrist: “My Church is attacked and not
only spiritually. You know that this instant when
the demons prepare the reign of the antichrist,
the diversity of ideas will lead to a serious
internal discussion within the bosom of My
Church. Rampant modernism will cause great
suffering to all humanity and, taking advantage
of the instant of disturbance and confusion, will
penetrate into the hearts of the great nations
with great force.”

Kapal ng Mukha)! ng ABS-CBN Publishing na out na exclusively sa National Book Store at Powerbooks
outlets.
Nakapaloob sa nasabing libro ang life experiences ni Tita Annabelle, lalo na pagdating sa love, mga payo
niya sa mga kababaihang nalilto sa pag-ibig, trabaho, pera at iba pang aspeto ng buhay.
Siyempre, hindi pwedeng hindi ma-touch ang tungkol sa pagmamahalan nila ni Tito Eddie, kung paano
niya ito ipinaglaban sa mga babaing gustong umagaw, kung paano siya nagtagumpay sa pagmamahal ng
mister at pati ang lovelife ng mga anak niya, partikular na nga ang unica hijang si Ruffa Gutierrez, kasama
sa libro.
Kwento ni Tita Annabelle sa book launch held last Tuesday sa 9501 Restaurant ng ABS-CBN, binigyan na
siya ng kopya ng libro a few days ago.
“Hindi ko alam kung ipapakita ko ba kay Eddie or isa-shock ko na lang siya kasi baka ’pag nabasa ni
Eddie, magalit naman siya, papa-cancel naman niya, kaya sabi ko, ‘ay, kailangan ’to ’pag malapit na, ’pag
na-print na ang mga libro.’
“Two days ago, nabasa na niya. Kagabi, hindi ako kumikibo kasi nakita ko na ’yung libro sa harapan ko,
‘nakita kaya ni Eduardo ’tong librong ’to?’ Nandoon pa naman lahat ang sinasabi ko.
“So, tinatanong ko ’yung maid, ‘nagbasa ’yan ma’am, maghapon diyan, binabasa ’yan,’ (sabi ko), ‘ah,
ganu’n ba?’ Hindi pa rin ako kinikibo (ni Eddie).
“This morning, sabi ko, “Eduardo, may presscon ako mamaya sa ABS-CBN, ’yung aking libro, nabasa mo
na ba ’yan?’ Sabi niya, ‘grabe ka, naaalala mo lahat, wala talagang ano.’ Sabi ko, ‘Hindi ka ba galit, Eduardo?’
Sabi niya, ‘dapat hindi mo na sinama si Ruffa, lagi na lang si Ruffa isinasampol mo.’
“Sabi ko, ‘Eduardo, hindi pwedeng walang Ruffa, kasi sa kanya ko nakikita ’yung ’andiyan sa libro. Bakit
ayaw ko ng foreigner? Nakikita ko ’yun kay Ruffa, ginugulpi siya ng foreigner niya. Matigas ang ulo niya,
nagpabuntis sa foreigner.
“Sabi ko, ‘huwag ka magpabuntis kasi ’yung foreigner na dala mo sa bahay, pipi, hindi nagsasalita,
mayroon pang dalawang interpreter na kasa-kasama, o papa’no ko siya kakausapin? Interpreter muna bago
niya sabihin kay Yilmaz (Bektas, ang Turkish na ex- husband ni Ruffa).
“Kaya sabi ko, ‘Eduardo, hindi pwedeng hindi kasama si Ruffa riyan, siya talaga ang sampol ko palagi
dahil siya naman ang kasama ko almost 24 hours.
“Alangang magbanggit ako ng ibang mga pangalan ng mga kaibigan ko na hindi ko naman alam kung ano
ang ginagawa sa bahay nila,’” mahabang kwento ni Tita Annabelle.
Pero dahil maganda raw ang book, natawa na lang si Tito Eddie at hindi na nakuhang magalit.
“Maganda raw pati caricatures, maganda. Sabi ko, ‘happy ka, Eduardo?’ Sabi niya, ‘may magagawa pa
ba ako? Nandiyan na ’yan.’ Kung aawayin niya ako, wala naman siyang magagawa. Sabi ko, ‘na-publish na,
mayroon na nga akong presscon mamaya.’”
Ano naman ang reaksyon ni Ruffa? Nabasa na ba niya?
“Hindi pa nga, ’day, eh. Pinapa-order ko nga siya ng 200 copies. Kailangan sabay-sabay kasi ’pag isa lang
mabasa, baka hindi orderin. Sabi ko, ‘igi-gift wrap ko na muna Ruffa, para pagbigay mo (sa friends), nakagift wrap na.’
“Sabi niya, ‘what’s inside the book?” Sabi ko, ‘mag-i-enjoy mga kaibigan mo, hindi ka magsisisi, P175
lang, maganda pa, masarap basahin.’ Sabi niya, ‘ano ’yan, mommy?’ Sabi ko, ‘about myself lang,’ pero hindi
niya alam, kasama siya roon.
“Ayaw ko nga siyang bigyan ng sample, baka hindi umorder, eh. Kukunin ko muna mamaya ang tseke
niya, idi-deliver ko sa kanya para talagang sure, walang bawian.
“I’m sure, magagalit na naman ’yan, kasi nasali ko na naman siya.”
Pero aniya, ang lahat ng pinayo niya sa libro ay nauna na niyang ipinayo kay Ruffa. Pero talaga raw
matigas ang ulo nito at hindi siya sinusunod.
“Kung sinusunod mo lang ang nanay mo, Ruffa, magiging maganda ang buhay mo sa lovelife mo. Until
now, wala pa rin siyang matinong lovelife kasi hindi siya gumagaya sa akin. Kaya sabi ko sa kanya, ‘basahin
mo na ang libro ko Ruffa, maganda ’yan.’”
As of now, okay naman daw sila ni Ruffa. As we all know, lagi niya itong nakakaaway.
“Kasi, alam niyang hate na hate ko ’yung boyfried niya, so, hindi na niya ipinapakita sa akin. Hindi ko nga
alam kung nandiyan pa or umalis na,” sey ni Tita Annabelle.
Basta raw hindi lang ipapakita sa kanya ang guy, okay na sa kanya since hindi naman niya mapigilan ang
anak sa pakikipagrelasyon dito.
“Ngayong Pasko, sabi ko, huwag mong dalhin sa bahay ’yan kung nandiyan man siya. Para walang gulo,
walang away.”

ORDER
A verified petition dated November 23, 2015 filed by the above-named
petitioner in this case praying this Court that after due publication, notice and
hearing, judgment shall issue, ordering the City Civil Registrar of the City of San
Fernando (P) and Civil Registry General to:
(1) Item No. 1 – Change the last name of Hannah Csyvanyh Bansil
Bituin to Hannah Csyvanyh Bansil;
(2) Item No. 18 – Delete the date and place of marriage of parents
appearing in the Certificate of Live Birth of Hannah Csyvanyh Bansil
Bituin from September 17, 1993 in Porac, Pampanga to No Marriage
at all.
It appears that the aforementioned petition is in due form and substance,
the Court orders the hearing of the same be set on February 29, 2016 at 11:00
o’clock in the morning, inviting all persons interested therein to show cause, if
any, why the above-mentioned petition should not be granted.
Let a copy of this Order be published in a newspaper of general circulation
in the Province of Pampanga, once a week for three consecutive weeks, at the
expense of the petitioner.

Corp. (CIAC) has a new vice president after Reynaldo “Reycat” Catacutan resigned from his post
to substitute his brother in the mayoralty race in
Capas, Tarlac.
Businessman Jose M. Flores, Jr., aka Jojo
Flores, said he was surprised when CIAC President-CEO Emigdio “Dino” Tanjuatco III appointed
him to replace Catacutan.
Flores recalled that it was in the first week of
November when he was approached by Tanjuatco
who asked him if he could replace Catacutan as
CIAC VP.
“Are you serious, it’s no longer April Fools’ Day
and it’s now the Christmas season are you joking
me? Is this a big joke?” Flores said in reaction to
Tanjuatco.
“You know very well that I am a businessman
and I am already retired for the past three years,”
Flores told Tanjuatco who, he said, was very persistent.
Flores said Tanjuatco told him that his being
a Kapampangan and a prominent businessman
more than qualify him for the job.
