Dear Parishioner,
GOD’S PLAN FOR GIVING ~ TITHING
I am happy to give you a brief introduction
of your new pastor Father Joseph G. Watson.
Father Watson is from the Lawndale
section of Philadelphia. He attended Saint
William's school and Cardinal Dougherty High
School.
Father Watson studied
for the priesthood at St.
Charles Borromeo
Seminary and was ordained
in 1992. Father has served
in parish ministry
throughout his priesthood.
He is presently the pastor of St. William Parish
in Lawndale.
I ask that you keep Father Watson in
your prayers as he prepares to leave St. William
Parish and begin his ministry to all of you here
at Nativity. I know you will give him your usual
warm welcome and your support.
Know that all of your have my prayers. I
ask that you pray for me and the people I will
serve in Port Richmond.
God bless us all!

Memories are our treasures
Open Sunday, June 5,
beginning after the
8 A.M. Mass
through 12 Noon.
In this Year of Mercy, look to the books provided by
the Neumann Library for inspirational reading. One such title, which many of you may own,
is MERCY IN THE CITY by Kerry Weber. It
is subtitled:
How to Feed the Hungry, Give Drink to the Thirsty,
Visit the Imprisoned, and Keep Your Day Job. To
further give the reader an idea of the book's focus,
read the blurb on the back cover:
"Does giving half of your sandwich to a homeless
person count as 'feeding the hungry'? Does buying
an occasional coffee for a coworker count as 'giving
drink to the thirsty'? Kerry Weber--a young, single,
busy New Yorker--had done these things, but she
knew she could do more. Weber decided to commit
forty days to practicing the seven Corporal Works of
Mercy in a meaningful way. But a big question
remained: Could she do it?"

Children’s Liturgy of the Word
The Children’s Liturgy of the Word program is open to all children in grades Kindergarten through fourth.
This program generally runs from late September/October through the end of April, and allows children to
listen to and discuss the weekly readings in a way that they can better understand. A brief discussion following
the Gospel encourages children to think of ways they can apply Jesus’ teaching to their own lives.
Would you like to join this rewarding ministry? Our program relies on the faithful support
of our parish family to spread this good news to our children.
If you are 16 years of age or older, and can commit to one Sunday a month to help with our Children’s Liturgy
of the Word, please contact Mrs. Jennifer Boag at 215-672-5316, or jboag@noolp.org. We will provide
materials and training. You must meet all volunteer requirements as well, which we are also happy to help you
with.
If your child already enjoys this wonderful program each Sunday, will you consider
6-022
becoming a leader for them? We look forward to hearing from you!
