Mass through 12 Noon. In this Year of Mercy, look to the books provided by the Neumann Library for inspirational reading. One such title, which many of you may own, is MERCY IN THE CITY by Kerry Weber. It is subtitled: How to Feed the Hungry, Give Drink to the Thirsty, Visit the Imprisoned, and Keep Your Day Job. To further give the reader an idea of the book's focus, read the blurb on the back cover: "Does giving half of your sandwich to a homeless person count as 'feeding the hungry'? Does buying an occasional coffee for a coworker count as 'giving drink to the thirsty'? Kerry Weber--a young, single, busy New Yorker--had done these things, but she knew she could do more. Weber decided to commit forty days to practicing the seven Corporal Works of Mercy in a meaningful way. But a big question remained: Could she do it?" Winner of the Christopher Award for Excellence in Catholic Media. ~~~Neumann Library Committee~~~ 5-022 Parish News Nativity of Our Lord June 21 – 25, 2016 Rides - Food - Live Music – Bingo Mega 50/50 ~ $5.00 donation for each chance you purchase Winner receives 50% of all monies collected. This program generally runs from late September/October through the end of April, and allows children to listen to and discuss the weekly readings in a way that they can better understand. A brief discussion following the Gospel encourages children to think of ways they can apply Jesus’ teaching to their own lives. Would you like to join this rewarding ministry? Our program relies on the faithful support of our parish family to spread this good news to our children. If you are 16 years of age or older, and can commit to one Sunday a month to help with our Children’s Liturgy of the Word, please contact Mrs. Jennifer Boag at 215-672-5316, or jboag@noolp.org. We will provide materials and training. You must meet all volunteer requirements as well, which we are also happy to help you with.
