Parents are asked to come to the Baptismal Instruction the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Parish Conference Center located behind the church. Please call the Parish Center to register for Baptismal Instruction. We, the Parish family of Nativity of Our Lord, proclaim that by our Baptism we have received the message of Christmas the great love God has for all people and proclaim that love to all we meet, and so to make present the Kingdom of God on earth by service to others and by working for justice and peace. 1-022 Dear Parishioner, On Saturday, May 20th, four men were ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop Chaput for the church of Philadelphia. We as a church give thanks to God for these men and the gift of their priesthood. Among those ordained was Father Mark Cavara who served here with us as an acolyte last year. We rejoice with Fr. Cavara and his classmates. I ask that all of you pray for our new priests that God will give them the grace and strength to be good and holy Priests. I ask that you pray for all priests, for us here at Nativity, and for the priests throughout our Archdiocese and the world. We rely on your prayers. We are grateful for the gift of Priesthood and hope to be good priests as we minister in the name of Jesus. Please join me in congratulating Msgr. O’Donnell as he celebrates 64 years as a priest. Also, pray for Fr. Mekonnen as he celebrates his first anniversary of ordination and pray for me on my 39th anniversary. During this month of Ordination and Ordination anniversaries we thank and praise God for the gift of Priesthood in our Church and ask that He continue to call and give the grace to respond to many more good and holy priests to serve His people. To all our new priests and to all our priests, Ad Multos Annos! God bless us all! Father Angelo R. Citino Eucharistic Adoration: St. Maria Faustina on Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: "Silent conversation, alone with You, Is to experience what heavenly beings enjoy, And to say to God, 'I will, I will give You my heart, O Lord,' While You, O great and incomprehensible One, accept it Graciously. This program generally runs from late September/October through the end of April, and allows children to listen to and discuss the weekly readings in a way that they can better understand. A brief discussion following the Gospel encourages children to think of ways they can apply Jesus’ teaching to their own lives. Would you like to join this rewarding ministry? Our program relies on the faithful support of our parish family to spread this good news to our children. If you are 16 years of age or older, and can commit to one Sunday a month to help with our Children’s Liturgy of the Word, please contact Mrs. Jennifer Boag at 215-672-5316, or jboag@noolp.org. We will provide materials and training. You must meet all volunteer requirements as well, which we are also happy to help you with. If your child already enjoys this wonderful program each Sunday, will you consider becoming a leader for them? We look forward to hearing from you!
