made from hard white wheat to get the
healthy benefits of whole grains with a
milder flavor, which appeals to many
accustomed to the taste of refined
flour. Now High Plains farmers have
more options to compete in this global
marketplace while getting premium
prices for their wheat crop. You can
earn up to 85 cents more per bushel
when you grow select PlainsGold hard
white winter wheat varieties through
the CWRF ConAgra Mills Ultragrain®
Premium Program.
1. CHOOSE
Your Variety
Premium Wheat There are two PlainsGold hard white winter wheat varieties
eligible for the program: Snowmass and Thunder CL. Both varieties combine
excellent milling and baking qualities with good yields, stress tolerance, test weight
and disease resistance.
Take a closer look at each of these varieties to select the best fit for
your operation.
Snowmass
Snowmass combines good dryland yields with good test weights,
excellent resistance to wheat streak mosaic virus, medium-tall plant stature for
increased crop residue cover, and superior milling and baking quality characteristics.
Premium Pricing
Base premium: $0.65 per bushel
Protein premium: $0.20 per bushel for wheat with protein levels at or above 13%
Seed Rebate: $3.00 per bushel seed rebate on certified seed purchases
Thunder CL
Thunder CL is a single-gene Clearfield® hard white winter wheat
variety that is tolerant to Beyond™ herbicide for broad-spectrum weed control,
including problematic winter annual grassy weeds. In addition, Thunder CL
combines good yields, good stress tolerance, good disease resistance, good test
weights and superior milling and baking qualities. Thunder CL is also an excellent
irrigated wheat variety.
Premium Pricing
Base premium: $0.50 per bushel
Protein premium: $0.20 per bushel for wheat with protein levels at or above 13%

2. FIND
a PlainsGold Seed Grower
Seed Growers Purchase Snowmass or Thunder CL certified seed from
these PlainsGold seed growers and you’ll also be eligible for premium pricing at
harvest! Plus, farmers purchasing Snowmass will earn an additional $3 per bushel
rebate on seed purchases – to be paid after next year’s harvest.
