THURSDAY, MAY 8TH SATURDAY, MAY 10TH 15.50 Arrival at Skellefteå Airport (with SAS) Granö Beckasin Activities at Granö Beckasin. Open your senses by experiencing the northern nature up close. Svansele Vildmarkscenter Adventures and northern wilderness is the leading concept at Svansele Wilderness Center. Here, the visitor can experience a unique exhibition of wild animals, participate in exciting activities or enjoy a wildlife-theme dinner. The old Church Town, Bonnstan Bonnstan is the local name for the Church Town in Skellefteå, which dates back to the 17th century. Overnight stay at Hotel Stiftsgården, Skellefteå. FRIDAY, MAY 9TH Västerbottensost Visitor’s Centre Take a guided tour of the Västerbottensost Visitor’s Centre exhibition and get even closer to the cheese experience. Vindeln Vindelforsarna at Vindeln are some of the largest, most impressive rapids along the Vindelälven river. Lunch at Hotel Forsen, in a restaurant overlooking the amazing rapids of Vindelälven. Gammplatsen For centuries, Gammplatsen has been a popular hotspot for both the Sami people and settlers. A local heritage area in a beautiful location where the town Lycksele originated. You’ll find old buildings here, a Sami camp, museums and a cultural botanical garden. Lycksele Djurpark Lycksele Djurpark is Sweden’s northernmost zoo. You can get up close and personal with all kinds of Nordic animals here: bears, wolves, musk oxen, elks, seals and others. Älgens hus For more unusual close contact with animals, we head for Älgens Hus (The House of Elks). You can pat both gigantic bull elks and cute little elk calves here. This place has its own restaurant, an elk museum and lots of exciting activities. Västerbottens museum Västerbottens Museum is situated in the heart of Umeå and features a Sami program and exhibition on the Sami culture. Rock Art in Sàpmi and Made in Sàpmi are other examples. Guitars - The Museum Umeå is the home of one of the world’s finest vintage guitar collections. Now the whole world has a chance to see it. We will pay a visit to the exhibition of electric guitars, basses, amps and music accessories at Guitars - The Museum. Overnight stay at Hotel Aveny, Umeå. SUNDAY, MAY 11TH Umedalens Skulpturpark One of the finest collections of sculptures in Northern Europe, with about 40 works by world famous artists. 13.25 Departure from Umeå City Airport (with SAS) Option: visit at Bildmuseet in Umeå Exhibitions of national and international contemporary art can be seen in a new museum building over seven floors at the Arts Campus on the banks of the Umeälven river. 15.20 Departure from Umeå City Airport (with SAS) Granö Beckasin Lodge Dinner and overnight stay at Granö Beckasin lodge, beautifully situated on the riverbank of Umeälven and right on the edge of the forest.
