General information & basics: Dear valued customer, thank you for selecting a Rangemaster Thunder sequencer for your shooting ground. The Rangemaster Thunder sequencer was designed to fullfill all needs for small to medium sized shooting grounds. Please read the instructions carefully before operating this euipment & keep this manual for future reference. WARNING: When using electric equipment, basic seafty precautions including the following should always be followed to reduce the rist of electric shock, fire and personal injury. Read all these instructions boefore operating this product and save for future use. For safe operations: - Do not expose this sequencer to rain - Do not use electronic equipment where there is risk to cause fire or explosion - Avoid body contact with opened sequencer. - Always unplug power cords before opening the sequencer or he junction box. - Follow to savety regulations of your country when swichting voltages are exceeding 30V. - Always ensure that junction box & sequencer are correctly grounded - Keep children away - Keep visitors away from the sequencer and the shooting ground - Always ensure that launching area of traps is clear and tragectory of targets is safe. - This manual does not include safety instructions for shooting; local shooting regulations have to be followed. - Keep the equipment in proper conditions; repair damaged cords & cables immediatly. - When not in use, always disconnect from the power line - During Thunderstorms & lightening, turn off and always disconnect from the power line - Do not use any accessory or attachment other than those recommended or supplied by us. Installation: Please refer to the appendix for pictures & installation guidelines. III.1 Post installation test of equipment: Power up the sequencer and the (optional) junction box. Set payment option (administrative menu) to Shooting without payment Test of traps: - Make sure, all traps are switched on and connceted to the juntion box or to the Rangemaster Rangeport. - To test traps for Trap Shooting, select TRAP FO as mode and press the next menu key. Ensure that tragectory of targets & trap release are is safe & clear. Press the „TESTTHROW“ button. All 15 traps will be release subsequently. - To test traps for Sporting, Compak & Skeet: select Sporting Manual as mode and press the >next< button. Use your remote controll to release all Traps connceted to Port A-F and the 2 traps connected to the 2 skeet Ports. Test of microphones: - For Trap shooting: ensure that 5 microphones are connected to Port 01..05 on the microphone dispenser board. Select TRAP FO as mode and press the >next< menu key. Enter one shooter and press start. Check that lights on microphones are in corresponding sequence to a shooter’s movement during a round. - For Skeet shooting: ensure that 8 microphones are connected to Port 07..13 on the microphone dispenser board. - Select Skeet Olympic as mode and press the >next< menu key. Enter one shooter and press start. Check that lights on microphones are in corresponding sequence to a shooter’s movement during a round. Following display will appear: Mode: TRAP FO Shooters in round:1XXXXXX >START< >Testhrow< I Menu Key 1 I Menu Key 2 Total:1 >Change Mode< I Menu Key 3 Now: - set the number of shooters using the front switches marked with “Shooters 1/2/3/4/5/6” - initiate a test throwing of targets if necessay - or correct the discipline/mode IV.I.2 Set number of shooters: Putting the switches “Shooter” down addes a shooter to the next round. All 6 swiches in the down position: 6 shooters will be in the next squad to shoot. Putting the corresponding switch to the up-position will remove the shooter from the next squad and reduce number of shooters in the next squad. It can be stopped only by pressing the reset button for 3 seconds. Before pressing the Testthrow button, be sure that launching area and trajectory of target is clear! IV.I.4 Correcting the discipline/mode: To correct a shooting mode, simply press the Reset Button on the backside of the sequencer. CAUTION: YOU CANNOT RECALL THE SEQUENCE IN TRAP FO/FU/JFO-DE !! IV.I.5.1 Shooting rounds: This procedure is valid for: - Trap FO, FU, FA - Double Trap old modes A B C, 50+40 targets - Double Trap 30 (ISSF Mode 2013) - Skeet 2005 + Skeet 2013 - Compak Sporting all modes - Easy-Compak - Shoot of Skeet, Trap and Double Trap - Semi-Finals and medal matches for Skeet, Trap, Double Trap 2013 After setting the correct number of shooters, just press the left menu key for starting up. A random sequence (Trap FO, FU, Double Trap 2013) will be generated & stored in case of power failure. In this mode, there is no possibility to enter losts via remote control. You have to press Menu key 3: >exit< to finish this round. There is no automatic reset for competition mode after 15 seconds. The automatic reset will apply only to Payment modes. Functionality of keys on wireless remote control for Compak-rounds: A: When using a display system: Zero/Lost 1st target B: When using a display system: Zero/Lost 2nd target C: D: E: No Bird F: Hold/Continue G: H: Manual Release When all booked targets have been thrown, the sequencer will automatically reset after 15 seconds in pay modes RANGEMASTER THUNDER MANUAL – V.2013.1 WWW.RANGEMASTER.AT PAGE: - 16 - IV.I.5.7 Removing shooters from squads This information will apply only to: Trap FO/FU/FA,DTA,DTB,DTC, Trap FO-Pre, Trap JFO-DE, Trap JFA-DE, DTL, All Compak modes, Skeet olympic 2005 + 2013, Skeet J_AT, Skeet J_DE, Semfinals and Finals and shoot offs. In competition mode, you have the switch for each shooter in the squad put to the lower position; To remove the shooter, just move the switch to the upper position. If shooter is marked active, just release a target and the shooter will be removed for the next turn. In payment mode, it is not possible to remove shooters from the squad. Shooting in chipcard payment mode: - Good for commercial shooting: - Limitation of no-birds will apply, you can set the number of no-birds per discipline in the administration menu. From this point onwards, it is no longer possible to change the shooting mode. You can only reset the system, but then credit will be lost. If number of shooters registered = number of shooter allowed, no further chipcard insertions will be accepted. Now follow the sections IV.I.5.1 in accordance to requested shooting mode. If credit is not sufficient it will show: Mode: >TRAP FO< Registered shooters: X Credit: 0000 Not enough credit on card – remove card I Menu Key 1 I Menu Key 2 I Menu Key 3 Now remove the card and insert another card with sufficient credit. Shooting in coiner payment mode: - Good for commercial shooting: - Limitation of no-birds will apply, you can set the number of no-birds per discipline in the administration menu. After switching on the Thunder sequencer, following display is shown: Mode: TRAP FO Number of shooters: Insert coin >Change Discipline< I Menu Key 1 0 I Menu Key 2 I Menu Key 3 Now: - insert a valid chipcard with sufficient credit or - correct the discipline/mode After insertion of coin, the system will increase the number of shooters for the next round: Mode: >TRAP FO< Registered shooters: 1 Insert coin or … >START ROUND< I Menu Key 1 I Menu Key 2 I Menu Key 3 Now there is the choice, either to add more shooters by inserting coins or to start the shooting with the number of shooters shown. From this point onwards, it is no longer possible to change the shooting mode. You can only reset the system, but then credit will be lost. If number of shooters registered = number of shooter allowed for this shooting mode, the shooting sequence will automatically be started. Administration: - You need: Rangemaster Thunder sequencer switched on and in main menu 1 administrative chipcard - Insert your administrative chipcard, when following screen is displayed: Rangemaster Thunder BiosXXXX-X.X DE Pulszeit:100ms Mic-Ruhezeit:3000ms Shooting with chipcard* Disziplin: >TRAP FO* < >next< * may vary… Please follow the instructions/informations shown in the appendix. Installation: The installation is fairly easy: Find a place for the thunder sequencer and the junction box (depending on the model, you may have 1 combined junction box for attaching box microphones and traps or 2 separate junction boxes for microphones and traps). Keep in mind, that the preconfigured cables for the junction box(s) are limited. After mounting the junction box(es) close to the sequencer, attach the microphone cables (3 wires per microphone) to the microphone dispenser card and the trap release cords to the relay boards. Trap/Compak sporting microphones: have to be connected to the terminal blocks 01..05. (terminal block 01: Trap microphone on station 1, terminal block 05: trap microphone on station 5). Skeet microphones have to be connected to the terminal blocks 06..13 (block 06: Skeet microphone station 1, block 13: Skeet microphone station 8). BEWARE: Signal relais are not suiteable to drive or switch loads for solenoids directly.
