NOVICE CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. OPEN CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Juniors which according to their records have completed the requirements to compete in the Open class but whose status is unconfirmed by the American Kennel Club are limited to competing in the Open Class for a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the Junior completed the requirements according to their records. MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. NOVICE AND OPEN CLASS DIVIDED: Junior-9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show; Intermediate-12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show; Senior-15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department, (919) 2339767. BE SURE ALL INFORMATION for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on front and back of entry form. NOTE: SUBSTITUTION OF DOG IN JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP AT THE SHOW(S): There will be an Administration Fee of $5.00 charged for any substitution of dog in Junior Showmanship at each show. In addition, if the dog originally entered in Jr. Showmanship was an additional entry, and the dog being substituted is not otherwise entered in the show, the Junior Showmanship Only fee applies. CATALOG ADVERTISING GUIDELINES These guidelines apply to both Black & White and Color Ads (if offered) HARD COPY ADS: All text must be typewritten or legibly printed. Photos should be photographic quality, not printed from an inkjet or bubblejet printer. ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION FORMATS: • High resolution PDF (press quality) (preferred format) • JPG or TIF (300 pixels/inch resolution) • Word document (note, fonts may default) The following are NOT acceptable formats: PowerPoint, Works, Excel, Word Perfect, Publisher. Ads MUST be built in proportion to a catalog page. Image area is 4.5”x7.5”, including any border. BE AWARE, if you build your ad 8.5x11, it will be shrunk to fit a catalog page, and will not be in proportion to the page. If you build your ad 8.5x13 inches long on a LEGAL Word template, that will be acceptable and in proportion. It is recommended that you burn a CD of any of your electronic ads and submit that to the ad chairman for your specialty. CD should be readable in both PC and MAC format. 2 • OKC SPECIALTIES • 2016 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS – ALL EVENTS The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List. • The American Kennel Club will collect: a $3.00 Event Service Fee and $.50 Recording Fee where applicable for the first entry of a dog, plus a $3.00 service fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and non-regular recordable single-entry classes, in all AKC licensed and member club events. At every licensed or member club rally trial, a recording fee of $3.50 is required for the first entry of each dog and a recording fee of $3.00 is required for each additional entry of the same dog. The event-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Event Service Fees for The American Kennel Club. These event service and recording fees shall be forwarded to The American Kennel Club along with all other required event results within seven (7) days of the close of the event. • No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, e-mail and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without Agreement and Rules on reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or Baray Events assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner’s agent. RESPONSIBILITY FOR COMPLETENESS OF ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH ENTRANT. • RETURNED CHECKS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A VALID ENTRY FEE. BaRay Events will add a $30.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. We will not re-process checks. The exhibitor will be contacted & required to send a money order for the original amount PLUS the $30.00 NSF fee. Subsequent returned checks from same person may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY BASIS. • REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed by the Club to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. • Females in season are not permitted to compete in Obedience or Rally Trials. If a female is withdrawn from competition because it came into season and the Superintendent is notified no later than one half hour prior to the start of the first class in the trial, the club is required to refund the entry fee. The club may retain a processing fee and must publish this information in the premium. Clubs may determine the documentation, if any that is required to confirm the female is in season. This shall be stated in the premium. Note: No fee is paid to the AKC for females in season who are withdrawn. • FAX ENTRIES – Fax entries will be accepted up to closing time. Fee is $4.00 per dog per show. If the credit card charge is denied for any reason, an additional service charge of $20.00 will be added. FAX NUMBER: (360) 755-2248. This is for Fax Machine ONLY. Incomplete or illegible Fax entries are not acceptable as a valid entry in a show. Proof of transmission is not proof of receipt of a legible or complete transmission (under AKC Rule Ch. 11, Sec. 4). Should Exhibitor NOT receive an acknowledgment within a reasonable time, PLEASE notify BaRay Events at (360) 755-7086 or email dogshows@barayevents.com. • Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. To find out about any AKC event cancellations call the AKC Event Cancellation Hotline 877-252-3229. • Please note: Any hotel or motel listed in the premium list is subject to Event Committee Rules. We expect our exhibitors to be responsible guests. A report that an exhibitor at this show has abused hotel or motel property during this weekend may result in disciplinary action. Clubs reserve the right to decline future entries from the offending party in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 11, Section 15 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows. • Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent/Show Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. • Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. • LOSS OR DAMAGE – The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor’s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children. • Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. • ALL RIGHTS TO TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the Show Grounds at any time while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. Open Classes Divided, Each Sex: Brindle, Fawn, Black, Blue, Harlequin, Mantle WINNERS DOG WINNERS BITCH BEST OF BREED COMPETITION The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed Competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs according to their owners’ records have completed the requirements for a Championship but whose Championships are unconfirmed. The showing of dogs whose Championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a Championship according to the owners’ records. SELECT DOG SELECT BITCH NON-REGULAR CLASSES (INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES) DESIGNATED SHOWS ONLY – REFER TO EACH SPECIALTY SHOW FOR ELIGIBILITY FOR ADDITIONAL NON-REGULAR CLASSES, REFER TO EACH SPECIALTY SECTION Note: As the judge’s decision in these classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won the class. Ch. 11, Sec. 8 of the “Rules Applying to Dog Shows” provides that “a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.” STUD DOG CLASS – For Stud Dogs and their Get. Stud Dog must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their get. Stud Dog need not be entered in any other class. The owner of the stud dog need not necessarily be owner of the get. While the merits of the stud dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the stud dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard of the breed. Get must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed Competition, or some other Non-Regular class. BROOD BITCH CLASS – For Brood Bitches and their Produce. Brood Bitch must be entered in the Brood Bitch Class and must be shown in the ring with their Produce. Brood Bitch need not be entered in any other class. The owner of the brood bitch need not necessarily be owner of the produce. While the merits of the brood bitch are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the brood bitch must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard of the breed. Produce must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed Competition, or some other Non-Regular class. BRACE CLASS – Two dogs, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in the brace class must have at least one common owner. Dogs do not need to be entered in any other class. Dogs comprising a Brace Class must be named at the time of entry, and full particulars must be given for each dog on individual entry forms. If a dog which is to be part of a Brace is not entered in another class, it must be entered for “Brace Class only.” An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as part of a Brace must be marked accordingly in the space provided for additional classes as “Brace Class.” 4 • OKC SPECIALTIES • 2016 I N F O R M AT I O N F O R A L L E V E N T S , A U G U S T 1 8 - 1 9 , 2 0 1 6 COMBINED OBEDIENCE TRIAL & RALLY TRIAL– FRIDAY, AUGUST 19 ONLY OBEDIENCE OFFERED FOR AKITAS, DOBERMAN PINSCHERS RALLY OFFERED FOR AKITAS, DOBERMAN PINSCHERS All Obedience & Rally Classes Will Be Held Indoors With the approval of the American Kennel Club, Obedience and Rally Trial classes at the OKC cluster will be consolidated to provide maximum efficiency in scheduling and judging. The Judging Program will include a complete list of breeds to be judged, and the order in which they will be judged. All Specialties that are offering Combined Obedience Classes will be judged together. Each dog will be judged and individual scores recorded in the respective breed’s judge’s book. For the group exercises in Obedience, all breeds will be judged in one group. If there are more dogs competing than can be spaced four (4) feet per dog on one side of a ring, some must be judged in another group. The judge will divide the class into equal sections and the group exercise will be judged after each section. Following completion of group exercises, the judge will complete the judge’s books for all dogs entered in each Obedience class in the respective breed’s judge’s book. Ribbons and awards will then be awarded by breed. Qualifying points in Obedience are based on the number of dogs in each breed only. All Specialties that are offering Combined Rally Classes will be judged together. Each dog will be judged and individual scores recorded in the respective breed’s judge’s book. The judge will complete the judge’s books for all dogs entered in each Rally class in the respective breed’s judge’s book. Ribbons and awards will then be awarded by breed. COMBINED OBEDIENCE TRIAL CLASSES Regular Classes: Novice A – Novice B – Open A – Open B – Utility A – Utility B Optional Titling Classes: Beginner Novice A – Beginner Novice B COMBINED RALLY TRIAL CLASSES – RALLY RING 40’ X 50’ Novice A – Novice B – Advanced A – Advanced B – Excellent A – Excellent B SANCTIONED FOUR-TO-SIX MONTH (BEGINNER PUPPY) COMPETITION OFFERED FOR AKITAS ONLY Section 1- Classifications The Four-to-Six Month Puppy competition shall be for dogs that are four months of age and over but under six months on the day of the event. Classes will be offered for breeds and varieties and divided into Groups as described in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows and the Miscellaneous Class breeds as listed in Chapter 3, Section 23. The Miscellaneous class competition will be the equivalent of Group competition and the winner will be eligible to compete in Best Four-to-Six Month Puppy in Show. The FSS competition will be the equivalent of Group competition and the winner will be eligible to compete in Best Four-to-Six Month Puppy in Show. Section 2 – Entry and Eligibility Entry and eligibility requirements include: • The Four-to-Six Month Puppy event may be offered at licensed or member dog shows at the option of the show giving club. • Four-to-Six Month Puppy Competition must be listed in the premium list, entry form and judging schedule, if offered. • AKC registration number or an AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed as listed in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows. • A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. • FSS number or FSS registered litter number will be required for Miscellaneous and FSS breed entries. • All entrants are to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian’s protocol. • Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay. Dogs must be removed from the show site immediately following Best in Show judging on Sunday, August 21, 2016. LOADING & UNLOADING - Reserved Grooming will be in the Livestock Building located at the northeast corner of the grounds. Access to the Livestock Building will be off 284th Ave SE - follow signs. POWER OUTLETS - Use of ALL power outlets is at user’s own risk. No practicing allowed in rings at any time. No dogs to be left overnight in Reserved or Non-Reserved grooming buildings. Free Day Grooming is available on a first come, first served basis & is located in the Horse Barn. All equipment must be removed at the end of each day. Each exhibitor is responsible for cleaning up after his own dog(s). Pooper-scoopers will be placed around the show grounds for your convenience. If your dog soils in the show ring, the ring steward will hold your dog while YOU do the clean up. A pooper-scooper will be placed outside each ring. Responsible dog owners will clean up after their dog(s). PARENTS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES! NO SKATEBOARDS, ROLLERBLADES, SCOOTERS OR BIKES WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE SHOW GROUNDS DURING SHOW HOURS NO UNAUTHORIZED USE OF MOTORIZED VEHICLES ON SHOW GROUNDS DURING SHOW HOURS. Grooming and exercise pens in DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY. Crates may be brought to ringside during breed judging and must be removed immediately when judging for that breed is over. All dogs that are owner-handled and are not owned or exhibited by professional handlers meet the requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. The showing of dogs whose Championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a Championship according to the owner’s records. All dogs entered in a Sweepstakes class must also be entered in a Regular Class or for Best of Breed Competition at this Specialty, at the regular entry fee. Entry Fee is $22.00 for each dog or bitch in each Sweepstakes, in addition to regular fee. Entries must be made at the same time and on the same entry form as the regular classes, indicating in the space for “Additional Classes” your entry in Sweepstakes.
